Fairfield Park Boathouse is a beautiful historic wedding venue on the Yarra River and a short drive from the Fairfield CBD. The venue offers gorgeous indoor and outdoor spaces for your wedding, equipped with comfortable furniture, natural shade, umbrellas and marquee roofing.

With indoor and outdoor spaces, Fairfield Park Boathouse caters to small and large weddings. Explore the spaces for your special day:
- The Parlour: Versatile and elegant space with several smaller areas available for intimate parties; adjoining verandah can also be combined with indoor space for large celebrations; capacity: 15 – 300 guests in various seating arrangements and space combinations with verandah
- Dance Hall: Chic room on the lower level of the Boathouse; it features a mini stage for entertainment or speeches, perfect for intimate weddings; capacity: 20 – 30 guests.
- Riverview Deck: Beautiful outdoor covered space with mesmerising river views; capacity: lower deck: 40 – 100, upper 50 – 80, combined: 90 – 180 guests
- Level Exclusive: Rent the entire lower level exclusively for your event; capacity: 165 – 300 guests.
Rooms support different seating arrangements and standing or seated layouts. The Fairfield Boathouse Park team will suggest the space and table setting, based on your guest number and preferences,
Food and Beverage at Fairfield Boathouse Park
The delectable menus for weddings are available as cocktail food selection and buffet. For example, if you choose a cocktail wedding menu, choose between seven and nine items per person, a combination of standard and substantial items.
Standard items include bruschetta, arancini, sausage rolls, and mini pizza squares. Popular substantials are Moroccan chicken skewers, lamb kofta tzatziki and baby burgers.
Optional enhancements are:
- Additional canapes per person
- Savoury grazing table.
Three buffet variants at Fairfield Boathouse Park feature appetisers, mains and dessert choices. For example, a simple buffet includes a delicious mezze platter, while an elevated variant contains steamed vegetables or prawn gooza.
Bar services at Fairfield Boathouse Park include:
- Standard or premium beverage package: 2, 3 or 4 hours
- Bar tab: Specified limit for drinks
- Cash bar: Guests purchase drinks from the bar
The beverage list is extensive, offering fine wines, beers, ciders and non-alcoholic drinks. Spirits aren’t included in the beverage package but are available for individual purchase or a beverage package upgrade.

The view is spectacular both during the day and at the sunset. Food was average, less than expected. Service was alright. At 9pm we were told that the music cannot be played outside, not sure why... so basically around 9.30pm we decided to leave the venue.We went there for a wedding reception. It was a wonderful venue, the staff were amazing in helping organise & run the event, & the food and drink was great. We had to re-schedule our wedding because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but Fairfield Park Boathouse & Tea Gardens were very accommodating & made the re-scheduling easy and painless. You queue to order, wait for pick up or get a buzzer and take it to your seat. Tables were outdoors on the patio or undercover on the balcony. I think inside seating was reserved for special occasions. Ie wedding events. The flourless chocolate cake was delicious. My friend enjoyed the devonshire tea- scones, jam and cream.
