Walton Castle

Being a wedding musician myself, I have performed at many wonderful and extravagant venues. When my husband and I were looking for a venue, I personally struggled with picking somewhere. I found Walton Castle just by chance on google maps and we went for a tour. We were both blown away by the view from the balcony as we were able to see the sea and thought this would make wonderful memories. It also meant a lot to my husband as he is in the Royal Navy. We both knew instantly that this was our venue. It ticked a lot of our boxes with it being close enough to Bristol for our local guests to travel to and from, as well as enough rooms and beds for our immediate family and friends to stay. It is a blank canvas venue where you can design your wedding to what you want. Not only do you have the space inside the ground but also the outside surroundings of the castle where you and your guests can go mingle near the fire pit late in the evening. A lot of couples get married between the middle turret and the main gates, but for me that was quite a short walk especially as a harpist I have a great appreciation for the aisle walk music. Once I saw their grandiose 2 trees entwining, I knew that instantly it was where I wanted to make my vows and as it turns out we were the first to do that at the venue. The team was great with keeping in contact with us when we arrived the day before the wedding. Like any wedding, we had a few hiccups like our master bedroom bath tap not turning off on the wedding morning at 6am (it’s an old building, these things happen). But with the Walton Castle team not being too far from the main venue, they were there in no time to help solve any problems.  Our guests who stayed at the castle really appreciated the large bedrooms that were provided and the kids definitely made use of the underground pool the day before the wedding. All our guests loved our small tours to the balcony for photos and my husband and I had some wonderful pictures taken at the baby grand piano within one of the turrets.  For anyone thinking of booking, I would recommend finding well established suppliers who know the venue or who are willing to go view it beforehand. Especially as they will need to have good communication with the venue and with what it provides (ie electrical/generators).  As a client, you are in charge of booking everything, it could be very helpful booking an external wedding planner for this venue. Make sure to pick companies that know the industry well and will go that extra mile to get all the smaller jobs done for you. As I said at the start, you are booking a blank canvas to make your dream wedding, and Walton Castle is that perfect setting to add to.  Thank you again to the team at Walton Castle, you can really tell there has been a lot of heart and care with maintaining it for your clients. 

Found the castle via a friend& we knew it was the place for us to get married.It ticked every box.Margarita welcomed us with open arms.We met Mandy a few times before the big day & she was responsive, friendly & fabulous. Both Neil& Carly went above and beyond.Unfortunately Storm Darragh arrived for the big day but the castle stood firm, he stretch tent held its own & everyone had the best day.The pool was great. I loved the living room in the keep.Memories made to cherish. Thank you

We got married in August this year & we couldn’t have wished for a more perfect & beautiful venue! It was the only venue we visited, & we were immediately sold. The atmosphere is incredible, & every direction you look, it’s stunning.Margarita and Mandy and the team were welcoming from the start to finish and they were easy to get hold of throughout our planning process.The entire estate is breathtaking; the courtyard is perfect for the ceremony, the bedrooms are comfortable & the pool is great!

We got married here & despite the rain, a really great day was had by all. Our guests couldn’t believe that we had the castle from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon all to yourselves! We met the team previously and sorted everything out for the wedding day, was given a list of vendors and recommendations which was great as we really had no idea of where to begin! Massive thank you to Margarita, Mandy & Neil for letting us book this beautiful venue & making sure our wedding day ran smoothly.

Both myself and my (now) wife had the dream wedding at this beautiful venue. We couldn’t have asked for a better day! We enjoyed the independence that hiring the venue gave us for planning our wedding. The staff were super helpful if you had any questions during the build up and on the day. The venue is absolutely beautiful & wowed our guests which was particularly nice as some of them had travelled very far. The castle feels very private as is hidden on top of a hill with lovely views.Margarita & Mandy were always available to help and answer any queries throughout the planning process,which was appreciated as planning a wedding can be very stressful.Neil met us on arrival & was very helpful with our vendors.Mandy was great-We highly recommend a memorable wedding at Walton Castle!

We had my daughter’s wedding at Walton Castle Clevedon last weekend.From the moment we met the owner we knew this was the venue for us everything was all about the bride and groom nothing was too much trouble.Every moment we were there it was magical,the rooms were fantastic,on the Friday we all sat around the large round table in the kitchen laughing & enjoying ourselves.The day of the wedding was brilliant everything went so smoothly I would recommend it to anyone it really is a magical place.
