Upton Barn & Walled Garden is an award winning exclusive use wedding venue nestled amidst the beautiful Devon countryside. Providing not one but three unique spaces all under one roof, allowing your wedding party to flow seamlessly from one to the other, and licensed for indoor and outdoor civil ceremonies giving you the freedom to design your wedding day to suit you. The Walled Garden was formerly the Victorian farm kitchen garden and has been reimagined to become the perfect setting for outdoor wedding ceremonies. With manicured lawns and footpaths leading through fragrant flower beds to the beautiful hand-crafted oak arbour that is licensed for civil ceremonies. The lovingly restored Cider Barn is a blend of traditional and contemporary architecture with exposed roof trusses, polished concrete floor and a full height, glazed gable end which bathes the venue in natural light bringing the outside in. This stunning feature provides breath-taking views over the walled garden and Blackdown Hills and an idyllic spot for indoor wedding ceremonies. The Press is a chic and stylish bar which complements the Cider Barn and flows beautifully into the walled garden. It is a laid back, social space where your guests can relax with old and new friends on the built in, modular soft seating or mingle over drinks and canapes in front of the wood burning stove. As you step into The Stable Barn you find yet another warm and inviting venue. Architecturally inspired with elegant lighting, warm timber interiors, well-stocked bar and captivating views across the paddocks; perfect for your wedding breakfast. Upton offers every couple the exclusivity and flexibility to design and create a day entirely unique to you. The most INCREDIBLE venue ever ever ever!!!!!✨ We viewed Upton Barn and one other venue - we knew Upton was the place for us. Utterly beautiful in every single way. Home to the best wedding coordinators who couldn’t have done more for us and all of our guests, we appreciate you so much and will be forever grateful❤️. The team at Upton are absolutely incredible, from the lead up and throughout they supported us and helped to shape our wedding day into the most special day. The team are friendly, supportive, kind and have real keen eye to detail. They are all professional and wonderful, not a bad word to say about any single member of the Upton team. If you’re thinking of getting married we 100% recommend this venue, it’s stunning! And the staff are the best.The team at Upton are absolutely incredible, from the lead up and throughout they supported us and helped to shape our wedding day into the most special day. The perfect venue The perfect venue
From the first moment we stepped foot in the venue, we were overwhelmed with how stunning the grounds and interior was. It is modern but has character even without adding decor. The staff were incredible and so helpful. On the day we had a medical emergency and they remained calm and professional and managed to seamlessly attend to the incident, support us as the bride and groom and attend to our other guests. We cannot thank them enough for this. I cannot recommend this venue enough.From the first moment we stepped foot in the venue, we were overwhelmed with how stunning the grounds and interior was. From the moment we came to Upton we knew we didn't need to look at any other venue. It had such a warm feel to it that you can only describe once you see it for yourself. We fell in love with it the moment we came onto site and all the extras like the beautiful Paddock, cosy and modern accommodation were all just icing on the top of theof the cake! All of our guests commented on what a beautiful venue it was and many of our friends commented they can’t believe how slick everything was.From the moment we came to Upton we knew we didn't need to look at any other venue. The day flowed seamlessly from start to finish, and our guests couldn’t stop commenting on how beautiful everything was, several told us it was the nicest wedding venue they’d ever been to. The wedding coordinators were an absolute dream to work with. From the start, they made everything feel manageable and stress-free.We are so incredibly grateful to the entire team at Upton Barn. It was all WOW!It was all WOW!
We had an inkling from the fantastic website that Upton Barn and Walled Garden was high quality, but we knew for sure that it was the place for us when we met Sarah, one of the wedding coordinators, for a tour. It was all WOW from that moment onwards. We wanted our day to feel like a treat - to have a loving and memorable experience with our favourite people, whilst giving us space to be joyful and have fun. The Upton team are hugely experienced, always looking to improve and offer a beautiful personalised service. We immediately trusted that we could plan our day with them and not have to worry about a thing on the day. Sarah and the team are super efficient. On our planning visit, we went through everything in great detail. The plans were updated a number of times, so everything was exactly how we wanted it. We went on two family days during the planning - it felt really special as we were able to show our children and parents around. We got to know the space, so we could consider how we wanted it set up and flow on the day. The Paddock - what can we say! - we didn’t think we needed it, but when we looked around and visualised getting ready together with our family around us, there were tears! We had Storm Burt join us on the day, but that didn’t get in the way at all. The Paddock was warm and bright - we were cocooned. We wanted our ceremony to reflect us and to celebrate with our closest friends and family - our chosen celebrant helped us create this and the Upton team set everything up, including playing our chosen music at just the right time. When we saw the Tac Room (a little bubble for the couple to take a few moments throughout the day), we immediately imagined getting into our inflatable costumes to surprise our guests! And of course the Upton team did everything to keep it a secret and make it all work out as we’d hoped! There are so many beautiful spaces at Upton and even in November the light is stunning. Our photos both inside and outside capture so much joy and laughter with the most incredible backdrops. Sarah looked after us so amazingly. She held the day, gently guiding us through each moment. And the handover to Natalie was seamless. We are so grateful to Natalie for making sure the storm didn’t stop a thing - she found the moment to light the fire pit for the marshmallows and to have our sparkler photos! The Stalls, Bower and The Nest were the perfect end to an incredible day. We walked up the puddly lane, with our dresses bundled in our arms and our rainbow umbrellas held up against the wind and rain. We reached our pods of warmth and comfort. The only sad thing was having to leave the next day. But at least we get to keep the memories forever. We couldn’t have chosen a better home for our wedding day. Upton Barn was an absolutely stunning venue, we got married in the walled garden and it was everything we could have dreamed of and more. Sarah and Phil were great, so attentive and helpful. The venue itself is incredible, we loved that we didn’t need any extras as it’s just so beautiful on its own. We had so many compliments from our guests on the venue. My husband and I both say our wedding day was better than anything we could have imagined. This is greatly down to the incredible Upton Barn team and their gorgeous venue. From the planning meeting to the day itself, the team made everything run so smoothly alongside Mulberry and their incredible catering. We can’t thank Upton enough and feel so blessed to have had our wedding in such beautiful surroundings!My husband and I both say our wedding day was better than anything we could have imagined.
