Town Head Estate

We drove by the sign for Town Head Estate in summer 2022 whilst we were camping in the Lake District. You couldn’t see much from the road but there was just something about the sign that caught our attention, like we were meant to notice it (bearing in mind we weren’t even engaged at the time). When we got home to Manchester, we looked Town Head up and watched the video tour of the venue and wow wow wow, we were just blown away. We knew that whenever we got married it would be there, no matter what it took. Joe proposed at New Year 2023 in Edinburgh and had also surprised me by booking for us to go to Town Heads open day at the end of January (he didn’t know I’d also booked and was just going to pretend we were engaged as I just needed to see it). We also booked to go and see some other venues just incase but deep down we knew we wouldn’t be going. At the open day, from the minute we drove into the car park, we fell in love with Town Head Estate. It felt like we were in a fairytale place far away from reality, it just felt magical. We were greeted by the lovely Tanya and other Town Head staff and made to feel welcome from the get-go. We tried the food provided by Town Heads in-house caterers, Karen Rhodes, and it all tasted amazing, we couldn’t get enough of it! We walked into the barn decorated by Emma Jane Events and Free Range Floristry, and it was just so so stunning. Anna Kate Harpist was playing in the background making the barn seem even more beautiful. We sampled cakes made by Bramble & Wild, which tasted and looked amazing. We were just blown away by Town Head and all the suppliers they work with. We didn’t even make it halfway around when we knew this is where we were getting married and that was it, we secured our date for the 29th August 2024. We really couldn’t believe how lucky we were, we just knew we were going to have the wedding of our dreams, it felt too good to be true! So, this is when the planning started, and we loved every minute and a big part of that is down to Town Head Estate. Town Head were amazing from start to finish, they were on hand to answer any questions, big or small, and offered great advice. Most of our suppliers were the ones we met at the open day or ones recommended by Town Head and every single one was amazing, they make an incredible team. Before our wedding we attended 2 more open days which was great to catch up with our suppliers and also helped us envision what our day would be like. As the wedding got closer Town Head started to send over forms for us to complete, which were so straight forward and helpful, prompting us to think of things we hadn’t even considered. We then went to the summer open day and met Beth, one of Town Heads coordinators, and found out Beth was coordinating our wedding. We were so happy as straight away she just put us at ease, she was friendly and knew all the answers to our questions, we trusted Beth instantly and knew she was going to help us have the wedding of our dreams. Finally, it was the day before our wedding, we arrived at Town Head, Beth greeted us and then just left us to it, saying that if we needed her just to let her know. Once we’d unloaded everything, we then had our wedding catch up with Beth where she went through all of our forms and all of our wedding décor, props etc. and the plan of action for the day. From that moment on Beth just took care of everything, meaning we could just chill out and enjoy every minute. We had food and drinks the night before with our closest friends and family which was a lovely pre-wedding celebration. Then it was the big day, and we honestly have no words to describe how amazing it was. Town Head really is in a league of its own, all of our guests said that they have never been to a wedding like it or a more beautiful venue, it was just a dream! Beth and the team were amazing on the day, they just took care of everything, everything flowed, and we got to see all of our wedding plans come to life. We really can’t thank Beth enough, from getting Joe a donut before the ceremony as he was hungry, to hyping me and my Bridesmaids up before we walked down the aisle, she was just amazing and really went above and beyond. We could go on and on about how incredible Town Head, Town Heads staff and Town Heads suppliers are, but our advice is just to book it and see for yourself, you will no doubt have the wedding of your dreams, no matter what the weather, how many guests you have, what your budget allows, it will be amazing no doubt and we can’t thank Town Head enough, it really was the best day of our lives and our guests call it the wedding of the year.

We truly couldn't have chosen a better venue & Tanya is an absolute superstar. Experience - Our experience at town head was fantastic from start to finish and the arrival of an unprecedented snow storm made us truly appreciate how wonderful Tanya and the team are. Without them much of our wedding would have not been possible. Just after our guests arrived roads were shut, cars were abandoned and people were stranded - including our registrar! But town head to the rescue, rescued her by tractor! If this wasn't enough they later ferried all our guests in a truck back to their homes and hotels as it was near impossible for them to get home. Without them, we would have had over 70 stranded guests sleeping in the wedding barn! What made their efforts more admirable is the wedding party really had no clue how snowed in we really were as they calmly ensured all celebrations continued without a hitch! We don't think we could ever thank them enough and will always thank them for going above and beyond to make our day so special. Tanya made us feel relaxed from the moment we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. The venue - Absolutely stunning. Set on the edge of the lake with the entire estate to ourselves and guests. Many location options for the ceremony/cocktail hour/ reception/ photos come rain or shine! We opted for the wedding barn as it was December, it was just perfect. The accomodation - The 3 cottages and bridal cottage (all beautiful) meant family and the bridal party could all stay on site the evening before, and night of, the wedding. The hot tubs were the icing on the cake, never felt more relaxed - perfect pre-wedding pamper. The bridal suite - Such a lovely large room adjoining the bridal cottage for the bridal (or grooms) party to get ready in! Dog friendly - We couldn't get married without our pooch Sulley, so this was a great option for including him in our day! Again thank you Tanya and the team, I couldn't recommend them more.

Town Head is a beautiful venue, at the southern tip of Windermere. It’s very accessible to train stations and local towns like Newby Bridge. Our experience was fantastic from start to finish. Tanya, who is a superstar, oversaw our event and made us feel completely calm. She worked with all of the suppliers seamlessly. Our day ran like clockwork. The venue itself was stunning. Well laid out with several extra cottages (with room of 20 people) and all rooms well furnished. It is right next to the lake so we had pictures there which are shown below. I’d highly recommend Town Head: it exceeded our expectations.

We were lucky enough to get married at Town head Estate in May 2022 and it was the most incredible day for us both. From checking in, Tanya was there to greet us and took control of everything over the weekend to allow us to relax and enjoy it all. The Venue is stunning and allowed us to get the Tuscany wedding vibes in the lakes district so our families could attend. The Gin Bar was very popular with the guests and everyone loved the cocktail hour after the meal. From relaxing in the hot up with the bridal party the night before to getting ready in the most amazing beauty room in the morning was just perfect. We took full advantage of staying the weekend and had a BBQ at the boathouse on the Sunday & and boat ride which was the perfect ending. The Town Head Team literally go above and beyond with their service and co-ordination. We cant thank them enough for such an incredible weekend!

What a perfect venue! Cheryl and David have done an absolutely amazing job renovating the estate into the amazing venue it is now. When we first viewed the venue in September 2020, it was a building site, with no floors and was basically a shell. It was a bit of a gamble, but it really paid off! The finish of the barn and all the accommodation is very high end. We loved the flexibility of the venue, with a number of options of how a wedding could be run from using the barn/hiring a marquee/ using the boathouse and getting married outside. The grounds were a big selling point for us with Town Head having large grounds and even its own private beach overlooking Lake Windermere. This allowed us to have a wedding morning swim in the lake with our guests and get married outside overlooking the shores of Lake Windermere. We also managed to have an activity day with our guests the day after the wedding, with yoga in the boathouse and watersports (we hired ourselves) on the lake. It was brilliant to be able to have all our close family staying on site allowing us to spend more time with them before, during and after the wedding and an accessible room for my grandparents. Cheryl and her second in command Nessa could not have been more helpful before, on and after the big day! Thank you everyone at Town Head Estate for making our wedding day so special and memorable.

When we looked at Town Head Estate last year as a possible wedding venue, it was still very much a building site. But we instantly fell in love with the location and the ability for guests to sleep there, having access to lake Windermere for a swim, gorgeous land which can be used in so many different ways and a really romantic greenhouse. Cheryl showed us around and explained all of her ideas for the place - from the bridal suite to the hot tubs and a jetty by the lake. She had it completely figured out. In the end it was clear for us that Town Head was it! We were lucky enough to get a weekend booking and our wedding took place in September '21 with the venue exactly how it had been described to us. The beautiful ceremony barn, the on-site accommodation, the boathouse, the bar and everything else was perfect. Throughout the planning process, Cheryl has been extremely patient, friendly and helpful, making sure we felt comfortable with everything she did. I think we may have won the price for asking the most questions in the lead up :D - but to every question, Cheryl had an answer or a solution (i.e. plans for rain, sign for ceremony music to start, where to best serve cocktails, the list goes on). She also put us in touch with other suppliers and was genuinely a great sound board for the plans we had in mind. This really put us at ease and we felt relaxed and excited when the weekend finally came. The day ran smoothly with the help of Cheryl and the team who were there to make sure everything was going well, which was hugely appreciated. All in all, we 100% recommend this venue which, due to the lovely owners, amazing location and perfectly renovated barns/accommodation - the ideal place to get married!

Wow, there are no words! We booked the TH for our wedding whilst it was a building site, why you say? Because we had every faith in Cheryl’s vision of the final product! We 100% made the right decision! We had originally booked to have our ceremony in the boat house on lake Windermere but on the morning of the wedding it was raining and I mean RAINING! Cheryl asked me due to this and the walk down to the boathouse would we like our ceremony in the barn. We are truly thankful of this offer as it ended up being perfect! Even thinking about it now makes me emotional at how amazing it was. The stone walls of the building and adjoining to our reception area along with the gorgeous ambience of the lighting made it truly romantic! Even though the rain was non stop all day we feel it added to the vibe of our boho relaxed wedding and the photos are truly stunning. Tanya was our planner for the day and nothing was too big nor small of an ask! She did a wonderful job running around making sure everything was just perfect! If we could marry here again we would in a heartbeat and I truly hope one day we can renew our wedding at this gorgeous estate! Before the wedding when locals asked where we was getting married they stated it as the ‘new and exclusive’ place to get married and they were so right! Also if we had known how gorgeous the bridal cottage would end up being we would of booked to stay here too as it’s stunning, the attention to detail has the true wow factor and the bridal suite for getting ready was divine! Thank you all at TH for giving us the intimate wedding we had dreamt of!

We held our wedding here only a week ago. It was unbelievable! The grounds are beyond beautiful. The cottages are a home away from home. The lake is literally on the door step and we made the most of it. The dining room/barn is so beautiful it doesn't really need decorating. The staff are incredibly friendly special mentions to Val & Callum. Huge thank you to all involved

My son and daughter-in-law recently held their wedding here, it was such a stunning venue with the hosts doing everything they could to see that it all went smoothly, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation is so well equipped and beautifully decorated it was a delight to stay there. I highly recommend this venue and I'm sure that whatever occasion you are there for, you will not be disappointed. Thank you again

I got married here and it was beyond perfect. The venue, setting, staff and even value for money were all 11/10 and I couldn't recommend them enough.
