Set amongst the backdrop of the River Wyre, The River Barn is an exclusive wedding venue that provides the most memorable wedding experience in Lancashire.

Enjoy alfresco canapés and drinks under our festoon lit oak pergola with your guest. With so many incredible picture perfect locations your photographer will be spoilt for choice.
Our wedding barn is infused with rustic elegance, lush green trees and boasts masses of foliage cascading from our exposed oak beams.
Nestled within our picturesque grounds is a luxurious 16th century country Manor House. The manor provides 7 sumptuous bedrooms including a stunning Honeymoon Suite located within a secluded wing of the manor and boasts a kitchen, dining room and cosy living space.
Within our protected woodland we have a further 6 ensuite 'Oak Tree Cabins' accessed via a festoon lit path providing your adventurous guests ample accommodation.
On the morning of your wedding enjoy a glass of bubbily in your private beauty parlour, beautifully dressed for your hair, makeup and beauty treatments.

We booked 2.5 years in advance and they were very attentive and responsive the entire journey. Nothing was ever too much and they were supportive with all our ideas and requests. The River Barn helped the journey to the wedding be less stressful as we had regularly meetings which helped with anything we may not have thought of/forgotten. They helped set up on the day, made the day go smoothly, and packed away at the end of the wedding, they completely took the stress away from ourselves so we were able to enjoy the day. On top of this amazing customer service, the venue is also STUNNING. You hardly need any decorations because the venue itself is so beautiful. We had multiple comments from guests on how beautiful it was, and all our pictures are just perfect. From the first moment of booking the venue to even after the wedding, they have been amazing! We had the most perfect day and it was the team which made the day special and flow like a dream! But wow!As someone who didn't want to get married in the uk, this venue blew me away from the minute i stepped in…. When even the toilets are a whole vibe, you know you’re good! All of the staff were unbelievable from start to finish, after three years of planning with them they generally felt like family attending on my day and couldnt of done anything more to help make the day anymore perfect!As someone who didn't want to get married in the uk, this venue blew me away from the minute i stepped in…. - LLyd & Shez27/07/2025Stunning venue but requires some changes. Stunning venue but requires some changes.Being entirely honest with this review as I would want other brides to be transparent too. This venue is everything you would want, it’s very compact so all you guests are together. I’ve been to weddings where everyone is in different rooms and it’s felt like a house party than a wedding. So this venue is perfect for keeping your guests together. It is stunning, we got amazing photos all over the location from the drive, the venue, the house, the grounds. All spectacular!! The staff are very lovely and friendly and made us feel at ease on the day as best as possible. One staff actually got married there so it was really nice to hear her perspective. There are a few things I will comment on that may need to be looked into. 1. If you want the fairy lights on it is an extra £200, personally I think the amount you spend on the venue this should be included, as they would look silly being turned off. 2. They close the garden area at around 9/10pm. We had no idea this was a thing. They closed the doors and made all our guests move to the front of the building. They do this for the neighbours. However, the venue closes at midnight so I can’t see a couple of hours making too much difference. 3. We brought our own garden games and were ensured they would be brought in at the end of the day (as said before they locked the garden area off so no one could play with them after that). Unfortunately, they did not bring them and the next morning they were damp and some ruined. 4. The day after the wedding all of your wedding items from the venue are put into the kitchen. I’m saying “put” but a lot of the stuff looked thrown in there. Some items were damaged that we handmade. None of the items were boxed up in the boxes we brought them in, so the next morning consisted of us trying to locate all our items and pack them away. 5. The guest switch over. We were told check out was 10:30am, they lock the bridal suite off at midnight for the next guests. However, the morning of our check out the new guests were in the house bringing all the items in. It really put a downer on our first morning wed. 6. We couldn’t enjoy the continental breakfast as we had to tidy everything up, and locate all the items in the kitchen and garden all whilst the new guests were setting up their wedding. This was a shame because we missed our guests who stayed over and couldn’t have breakfast with them. 7. For people staying in the house, they did not unlock all the doors in the kitchen and it was boiling hot day. It was not until we kept mentioning it (we didn’t have the key for the door) on the day of the wedding they opened it just before we were getting ready to do reveals to bridesmaids. There is also a wasps nest that really needs dealing with, one of my bridesmaids got stung just before the wedding. 8. We had several requests we had made during our consultations which were not done, however, this is not something you think about till after the wedding. We have raised these concerns in an email but unfortunately correspondence has stopped as it appears ‘you’ve had your wedding, it’s done’. I would definitely recommend staying the night before if you can it made everything so much more relaxed and we got to set up some of our items just before the wedding. Overall, if we were asked would we get married there again, we would say yes! Just because it is beautiful and contained. However, it is very pricey, not mobility friendly (our grandparents found it very difficult), and the reasons above it is a bit disheartening after all the money and effort you put into your wedding day. The grounds and venue is absolutely stunning and you can tell its well tended to. It was really important for us to have enough on site accomodation as we live away from our family and this place had it in abundance! We managed to have immediate family, the bridal party and their partners as well as some extended family stay on site! Not onl;y that but the staff were so lovely, kind and always quick to answer any questions we may have had. They made the run up feel really easy and were so professional giving us guidane and taking the lead with our vendors to organise the day/schedule for us. Our day was just amgical, those working that day were quick to keep us (mainly me) at ease. Throughout the day they kept a frienly and joyous atmosphere for us and out guests. We've had so many our guests get in touch to say how beautiful it was and we really couldnt have done it without them! So thank yoou so much to the Riverbanr! Our perfect venue! From start to finish the team were amazing bending over backwards for us to have our dream day! Nothing was ever a “no” it was always a “let’s see how we can make that work” which is exactly what you want from a venue. In particular Eleanor, Amber and Reganne took such good care of us and our guests and we are so thankful for them! The bar staff, the cleaners, the security were also amazing and although we didn’t catch their names they put just as much work in for our day as the others. It was the first venue we had visited and we knew it was the one. It’s stunning, I loved the rustic and modern vibe and the grounds too. The Manor House is beautiful and was just the right size for our family, we stayed the night before the wedding too and had some food and drinks which was lovely. We also used the pods for our guests which were lovely too. Just wanted to say a huge Thankyou to all the staff. You are all amazing, nothing was too much trouble, from our meetings before the wedding and also right up to the wedding day, you all made sure it ran smoothly and everything was perfect, you were all so lovely and helpful with everything. 😊So glad we chose this venue for our special day. Words can’t explain how grateful we are to every single person at The River Barn for giving us the most amazing day possible. We have multiple celebrities and sports stars booked into our venue in 2022. We look forwards to greeting these couples just as much as all our incredible couples.
What’s your favourite canapé?
This is a tough one, it is a toss up between the seared fillet of beef with fat chip or the beer battered Fleetwood fish goujons. These are always a crowd pleaser.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Sitting around the cosy fire pits in the evening under the festoon lit pergola whilst toasting marshmallows on the open fire.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our four large greenery infused planters provide a stunning backdrop and our beams come dressed in masses of greenery and foliage to give you the most incredible picture perfect images.
