The Netherwood Hotel wedding venue in the Lake District is a beautiful country house hotel with stunning views over our manicured gardens to Morecambe Bay and beyond. To help you celebrate your wedding we offer civil ceremonies, wedding breakfasts, evening receptions and exclusive use weddings, for an extra special wedding in the lake district.
Our main house is furnished with beautiful panelled rooms that offer a touch of elegance to your special day, a mini castle that can be yours for the bridal party’s exclusive use to get ready in, and a fabulous honeymoon suite for the Bride and Groom to enjoy their wedding night. The Netherwood is the perfect venue for your lake district wedding and everything you need to create a wedding in Cumbria that you will remember forever, no matter how large or small your guest list.
We have 5 unique rooms available that can adapt to suit your requirements including our oak panelled ballroom with adjoining terrace bar lounge and private garden terrace, our light and airy Deakin Suite, nostalgic library, cosy lounge or our main dining room with panoramic views. Accommodation at Netherwood consists of 33 luxurious en-suite bedrooms, perfect for you and your guests.
Our professional, hands on team has years of experience with precise attention to detail allowing us to tailor the day to suit you both. We cater for smaller intimate weddings of a few family and friends to large wedding celebrations of 120 guests.
Your personal wedding co-ordinator will be there every step of the way to guide and offer help and with only one wedding per day, you will have our undivided attention for your big day.

All of our guests travelled up so we put on a meal the night before, one of our guests said they were the best chips they have ever had. I honestly couldn’t ask for a better venue, Ashleigh and the staff did a fantastic job, I told them to do what they thought best and I am so glad I did as the stress was taken out of my hands and we came back from getting married to the most amazing reception. We stayed an extra night and were treated like celebrities! They even stored some of my decorations for me and when I came to collect them the following month I was greeted with such a warm welcome. All of our guests raved about The Netherwood and some are even booking to go back. From arriving the night before our wedding everything was perfect.
