We recently got married at The Moat and it couldn’t have been more special. Amanda and the team thought about every aspect of the day, her management meant everything went seamlessly and we were able to be fully present for every single beautiful moment. Amanda took time to understand what we wanted, while also helping us to consider things we hadn’t thought about. She was supportive every step of the way, and on the day we couldn’t have asked for more. She was calm, in control and executed every detail perfectly. We were particularly blown away by the event decoration - her and the team made every effort to elevate the day. We couldn’t have been happier. On a personal note, Amanda’s friendly demeanour was particularly welcome during the milestone moments in the day. We knew we could depend on her to let us know where, when and what was required of us. And she always went the extra mile - making sure we were fed, watered and happy at every spare moment - we couldn’t have asked for more. The food and drink were fantastic. The family style meal suited us perfectly, and the flexibility with the menu meant it worked for a variety of dietary needs and preferences. We’ve had so many people tell us how good the food was - particularly the marinated chicken thighs! The staff throughout the day were friendly and accommodating to a wide range of guest needs. We couldn’t finish the review without mentioning Sky Sounds Disco - Carl was a real gem and helped make sure the whole wedding went by without a hitch. He truly cared about giving us and our guests a good time - and he properly delivered. We also stayed in The Moat’s on site accommodation. It was stunningly decorated and allowed us to prepare for the wedding and recover in a calm, well equipped environment. We had a perfect day. Thanks to everyone at The Moat for making it so! That was absolutely delicious! I had a tandoori grilled paneer salad - I would rarely order a salad out but the combination of ingredients sounded really unusual. It was expertly prepared, the balance of flavours was perfect. The chef clearly knows what they are doing!!That was absolutely delicious! It's happy and fun. You can have a lovely meal at a reasonable price, inside or out and dogs welcome in the bar and bar dining areas. Food was great and service great 👍It's happy and fun. Food was well presented and really tasty. Our highlight of the evening was our waiter Jack, he was extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly, but not too friendly, my mum(age 88!) particularly enjoyed he's attention to the details and how lovely Jack was, we felt so comfortable we will definitely be returning and if we are lucky enough Jack will be serving us again, he is a great access to your company, please express our gratitude to Jack and all your amazing team.Food was well presented and really tasty. This place has recently been renovated and refurbished and walking in this was clearly evident. It is the perfect place to go with family and friends and on top of this it is a dog friendly venue. The food was lovely with all the roast dinners cooked to perfection and in particular the tuna steak burger was amazing ! The service was great with Andre (front of house) being polite and friendly. The only thing I would suggest is if the cocktail and food menus be expanded but was impressed and will be returning!This place has recently been renovated and refurbished and walking in this was clearly evident. Amazing atmosphere, the candles made it the perfect place for date night. The food was amazing, definitely taste like its all made in house (blue cheese sause with chicken wings AMAZING) The service was on point 1st place in a long time i couldn't complain about even if i was nit picking 100% recommend, i will be going back next time in the area. First time we've visited since the new ownership. We weren't disappointed! The new look interior has breathed life back into the building whilst retaining its character and charm. The service was excellent - friendly and helpful. And the food? Oh wow! Absolutely gorgeous! Such a different and varied selection too. I visited THE MOAT today Wednesday 13/7/22 with my wife, Mother-in-law, and we all left happily in memory with a first class hospitable experience. The staff and manager I will praise first and foremost for their very friendly, warm, charm, kind service. The Inn I have visited before in the past- my memories always a good one; but this Inn with the present day management have taken 'THE MOAT' to a new and higher level. The Inn, still retains its original historic charm. But today has been upgraded and fully modified to the finest decor, floor table chair layout 'SO IMPRESSIVELY SPACIOUS'. Delighted also to see the Kent links and charm of many wall photos embrace and enchant the visitor. In fact, this Inn is amongst the top best on my list in Kent..... A warm evening visit in its large attractive flowery back garden with the perfect sheltered sun shades over the seating and tables are waiting and ideal for all couples, family and groups of friends to enjoy outside. The food remarkable..BEST EVER LAMB SHANK IVE EATEN TO MY MEMORY. I introduce the Penshurst lamb shank.🍖 We visited around 4pm and stayed for at least two enjoyable hours. Definately will return...the Inn itself impressive, the staff wonderful, the food great...I look forward to more on the menu in future. Rating as a top Inn alone - A1, 10/10. So after not visiting this pub for some time, today when we did we where pleasantly surprised to find it’s completely different than it used to be….. we are talking years here! Firstly we where created by a super friendly barman, who advised us that it we wanted to eat in the garden then that was fine just had to order at the bar…. No problem for us. We ordered two drinks and grabbed a menu and proceeded to go find a table in the garden. The garden was amazing, lots of seats nice igloo style seating and plenty of grass! We ordered mussels and caesar salad, when they came out they where amazing…. I’ve been coming here over the years whenever I’ve visited England. They added a whole lot more seating in the back garden including a couple of gazebos that you can book. Food was delicious.
