The Moat House is a picturesque wedding venue in the heart of the English countryside.
From our 16th century Farmhouse and iconic horse chestnut tree, quaint canal bridges to our snowdrop and bluebell carpeted woodland. The Moat House has never been short of beautiful backdrops for your most treasured photographs. Beyond the landscaped gardens, our lakes and the canal, there are fields and country lanes on our doorstep for you to explore.
When you choose The Moat House, you’ll have the freedom to plan your day the way you want it. Your experienced wedding concierge is there to advise and make sure you’re not overwhelmed by choice, while tailoring your wedding to you as a couple. If you would like The Moat House to be exclusively yours on your wedding day, all you have to do is ask. This includes use of all 40 bedrooms as well as the Wedding Suite, providing overnight accommodation for you and up to 92 guests. The venue will be all yours from 11am on the day of your wedding until 11am the following day.

Venue is beautiful, and the surrounding village area makes for lovely photos. The venue's food and hotel rooms are brilliant. We got lots of positive feedback regarding the venue and we will definitely be returning for a visit. Myself and my husband got married on December 27th 2017 at The Moat House, Acton Trussell. From the moment we went to the open day the staff were amazing and answered all of my silly and sometimes crazy questions/ideas and made us feel at ease. They even let me have real reindeer on the grounds which I had organised through a local charity! On the day they really did make us feel so special and kept checking everything was how we wanted and that we were okay throughout the day. I really didn’t want the day to ever end and I can’t fault any part of our special day. The food, the staff, the location. Everything was perfect!!! I would highly recommend it to anyone. Half of our guests are from abroad and they all loved experiencing a beautiful English country wedding at the Moat House. Many stayed overnight as well and they still go on about how beautiful it all was over 2 years down the line. Loved that they put up my national flag on their flagpole for our day too ❤️The most amazing day!! Even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits. The staff were fantastic in the lead up to the wedding and throughout the day of our wedding. The food was fantastic! We loved the lit up tree at night and got some fabulous photos!
