In early 2024, Moddershall Oaks announced a huge investment and upgrades to it’s award winning space, The Venue.
The refurbishment takes inspiration from the natural lakeside and woodland location, offering a bright and fresh feel to The Venue. The 2-stage refurbishment includes a complete upgrade to the facilities including a glamorous new bar, an extended soft seating area, waterfall planting and ceiling lanterns, plus soft lighting, luxurious fabrics and a light airy feel throughout.
New for Spring 2025 a project offering 14 woodland pods will be available. Nestled on the edge of the private woodland and just a stone’s throw
from The Venue itself, the Woodland Pods offer a collection of 14 uniquely designed, luxurious pods. One pod is purposefully designed and included for morning of the wedding preparations whilst the honeymoon pod is reserved for newlyweds to stay on the night of their wedding, followed by the much loved mini-moon spa experience in our boutique spa.

The outdoor garden aisle and hand-built oak gazebo on the water's edge provides a unique way to give your wedding a magical twist. Situated in the heart of Staffordshire's countryside, your wedding will be surrounded by the peaceful ambiance of the picturesque woodlands and grounds - giving you the perfect view to say 'I do'.

As a member of the team here at Moddershall Oaks for 7 years I have been privileged to meet so many wonderful couples. They may arrive a little nervous about booking the biggest day of their lives, but by the end of our tour the excitement is building and we've already discussed colour schemes! My favourite part is seeing the day come around (after sometimes years of knowing a couple) and seeing their vision come together. It's wonderful to see them visit the spa again for a anniversary treat!

Venue Hire includes private use of our luxurious "Prep Pod" from 9am, the perfect space to get ready in the morning. "The Venue" and its outside areas including courtyard with wishing well, car park and outdoor garden aisle, manicured garden space with lake views and 12 acres of private woodland. Use of tables, chairs, outdoor furniture, white linen (table clothes & napkins), crockery, cutlery, glassware, easel for your table plan/welcome sign and a full complement of staff. You also get the Mini-Moon Spa Break for your wedding night in the Honeymoon Pod & day after the wedding to enjoy our onsite spa & wellness centre, breakfast, 2 course lunch, private use of the spa pool plus a 25 minute treatment each!

Abby was fantastic in the morning and throughout the day. Always checking to make sure we were ok and just an absolutely lovely human being. Lauren and Daniel were also amazing, making our day go super smoothly. The setup and food was also fantastic. We have never had chicken cooked so perfectly ! The prep pod and honeymoon pods were a great addition and we really enjoyed our spa day after such a hectic time period. The venue is stunning and so well set out. The grounds are perfect for pictures and we cannot wait to get our official ones back ! Thank you to all the staff, its a day we will never forget. From the moment we decided to choose Moddershall to the day we got married it has been a dream. Staff go above and beyond from the events team to staff serving on the day they couldn't have done anymore they were simply brilliant. They bent over backwards to give us the outdoor ceremony that we dreamt off. The ceremony was just perfect in the most gorgeous of settings under the pagoda by the lake. The drinks reception was fab, gorgeous drinks and delicious canapés followed by an outstanding wedding breakfast where they catered for everyone's allergies and intolerances. Moddershall is forever going to be apart of our journey and we will be back for many an anniversary visit and more. Moddershall really is the perfect place to say 'I Do' The Venue is a gorgeous setting both inside and out and the inside ties the beautiful woodland into its decor. We'd heard some horror stories of couples tied into difficult contracts through the pandemic, but Moddershall were so flexible, caring and accommodating. Less than 2 weeks before our wedding covid restrictions changed again and Claire was a life saver those last 2 weeks after the new restrictions, emailing me back and forth constantly to get everything arranged. We honestly couldn't have asked for more, it was a dream come true.The team at Moddershall were brilliant with us throughout. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
One that stands out as particularly fun one was Emily & Jay's wedding. Emily & Jay were keen snow-sports lovers and brought elements of their hobby to theme the wedding! I remember the cake being an epic mountain adorned with mini trees and mini snowboarders, their stationery was also mountain themed but the coolest part I remember was a snowboard simulator that they had set up in the garden for the evening! Complete with modesty shorts!!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't rush it, enjoy the process and do it your way!!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Snow machine has to be our favourite, a fantastic addition and looked great in photos! They even had a snowy mountain cake to match.
Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.
Romantic. Relaxed. Contemporary. Breath-taking. Unique.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Definitely the Lake! Either on the jetty with the lake and woodland in the background, or walking down the path with the woodland on one side and the lake on the other. Or of course under our Gazebo with the lake behind... you really are spoilt for choice!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Quite a few actually! We will quite regularly have celebrities visit us to use our onsite boutique spa. We've even had the cast of The Real Housewives of Cheshire film an episode with us!
What’s your favourite canapé?
That's an easy one... the Honey BBQ Chipolatas... or the Goats Cheese & Tomato Tartlets. Oh I can't decide!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
I'm a sweet tooth so I'd have to go for a good old sweetie cart. Or a doughnut wall. Yummy!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Apart from the garden aisle and hand-built oak gazebo which is used for outdoor ceremonies next to the lake (which is really rather special!) our most unique feature is probably the fact we also have a boutique spa. If you marry with us, you'll then stay overnight in our 5 star spa retreat for your Mini-Moon! You will then enjoy full use of the spa facilities the day after your wedding, including lunch, private use of the spa pool and a 25 minute massage each! Pure bliss after the happiest day of your life, not to mention a welcome retreat for your dancing feet!
