Our beautiful pub is home to a warming brasserie with charming low beam ceilings, all adding to the character and the 'country pub vibe'. Our delightful garden area looks out on to downside common- a truly gorgeous setting for all-important photos of your day. Our menus feature French brasserie dishes with an English pub twist. As well as providing you with a real 'home' for your wedding reception, one of our friendly team members will also act as a master of ceremonies to support the running of it. Both Effingham Junction and Cobham & Stoke D'Abernon stations are less than a 10 minute drive from us.

Wedding anniversaryWedding anniversary
We came as a family for our 14th wedding anniversary with our 2 small children. We were a little late but they were happy to put the booking back 15 minutes. The staff were friendly and helpful, The food and drink were excellent and the green in front was the perfect place for the children to burn off some excess energy without disturbing the other diners. We made a group booking for 21 people for my birthday, at the last minute as we had to find somewhere local because of of the train strike and not being able to get to London. From start to finish, our experience of the Cricketers was amazing. A lovely lady called Agnes helped us with every step of the booking, with menu selection, changes and special diet options and drinks choices. In the night of the dinner Lucas, the Manager, Imi and all the staff made the night go smoothly. Having been to the pub before for drinks, we decided to try the restaurant for a birthday dinner and it was lovely. The service was efficient and friendly. The wine was not ridiculously priced and the menu had a good selection of all types of food.
