Describe the best wedding that happened at The County Arms?
In April 2024, we had a beautiful Wedding for 90 day guests, and 120 evening guests. The couple had spent months hand making decorations, marbling candles and drying out Gypsophila. To see the vision come to life after a year of planning and excitement on all of our behalf was truly touching. We shed a little tear as we saw them waiting to be announced upon entering their reception. The Wedding was an absolute joy to organise and host. The food was impeccable, the team was incredible and the day was enjoyable for all at The County Arms.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make sure the day reflects you! It is about you as a couple, and it should feel as such, from your dining menu to your tablescape.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Oh, a seating plan on an old antique mirror always looks incredible within the settings of The County Arms.
Celebrating other guests on your day is always a lovely touch, if it's someones birthday, placing some Hotel Chocolat at their place setting, or popping down little bottle of bubbly if there's an anniversary to be celebrated.

What is The County Arms most unique feature?
The pub was built in 1852 and has aged beautifully. Keeping many of its grand historic features, with some modern twists, making it a space that ages life a fine wine.
The pub is a very special space. Many Weddings choose not to decorate the space too much, thinking it speaks for itself so perfectly!
What part of your business are you most proud of?

I have every confidence in our incredible work force here at The County Arms. From our fresh food kitchen, with the most creative chefs around- to our Events team organising it all, to the front of house heroes who make it all happen on the day!
