Tudor Barn Eltham is London's only surviving 16th-century Tudor barn - a genuine 1525 building, not a barn conversion, and one of the most distinctive wedding venues in the capital. Grade II* listed and set within thirteen acres of moated parkland in Royal Greenwich, it's a rare piece of living history: built for William Roper, husband of Margaret More, daughter of Sir Thomas More, and later home to the estate where Edith Nesbit wrote The Railway Children between 1899 and 1921. Few wedding venues in London, barn or otherwise, come with a story like this one attached.

Every wedding at Tudor Barn Eltham is exclusive use, with the entire barn, moat terrace, and front lawn are yours alone from morning setup to midnight. Choose from three ceremony settings to suit your day: the Tudor Gallery's larger end, seating up to 180 guests facing a dressed curtain backdrop; the more intimate fireplace end, ideal for smaller ceremonies of up to 90; or an outdoor ceremony on the front lawn, licensed for up to 180 guests between April and September. For the wedding breakfast, the Tudor Gallery seats up to 180 for a plated meal or 160 for a buffet, with room for 200 guests at an evening reception.

Set within Well Hall Pleasaunce, the venue's thirteen acres include rose gardens, fountains, medieval bridges, and the moat itself, giving photographers a variety of backdrops that few London venues can match, and giving your guests plenty of space to explore between the ceremony and the reception. In the warmer months, the moat terrace is a popular spot for a summer drinks reception before guests move inside beneath the barn's original oak beams.

Sharing-style starters like meze platters for a relaxed, communal vibe. Upgrades like a choices menu (e.g., 3 starters, 3 mains, 2 desserts) let guests pick their favorites. We had our Wedding day at this stunning venue and we could not be happier with how our day turned out!💍 From the very first time we saw it we instantly fell in love with the beautiful barn, its decor and not forgetting the acres of gorgeous gardens💐 We recommend booking one of their Showcase evenings as this is where we saw the venue come to life🥰 We met Jade who is fantastic - I wished she could have planned our entire day as she just got our vision during the showcase evening! The planning side was relatively easy but what I would say is double check with the venue what you can/cannot have there as this was not always clear when planning with Suzie, so please check to avoid any disappointment. Fast forward to our special day which was made truly magical - and very hot due to the heatwave!! We were very lucky to have the lovely Georgia host our wedding and we were so thankful for her and the team! Georgia is so lovely! Everything ran smoothly and we did not have to worry about anything on the day! The whole team working that day were simply wonderful and we could not thank them enough!✨ Food was amazing with huge portions available - our guests complimented the food so much! The Tudor Barn was the perfect venue for us! It was exactly the right size for our small-to-medium wedding after looking at venues that were either far too large or just a bit too small. The historic building and beautiful grounds are stunning, and we loved that we could have such a picturesque setting while still being in London. Georgia, our wedding coordinator, was simply AMAZING. We had a little apprehension at first, but the moment we met her, all of our nerves disappeared. She became our cheerleader, confidante, friend, and consummate professional all at once. One of the reasons we chose Tudor Barn was because they host so many weddings and have such a well-organized system in place—which was especially reassuring as we were planning from overseas without family nearby. But what made the experience exceptional was that Georgia never made it feel like we were following a template. She encouraged our ideas, embraced our vision, and helped us make the space and the day completely our own. It was the little touches that made all the difference. She happily worked with us to discreetly cover some permanent signage so it better reflected the atmosphere we envisioned. She beautifully arranged the family photographs we brought for our memorial display, creating a moving tribute to the loved ones who couldn't be with us. When she learned that two of our guests were celebrating birthdays on our wedding day, she surprised them with beautifully plated desserts that made them feel so special. She also helped me keep a few surprises from both Scott and our guests, making those moments even more magical when they were finally revealed. We had the most amazing wedding day at Tudor Barn. The building and grounds are so beautiful and a great space for guests to mingle and to take photos. We had several comments about the high quality of the food, and we had a few different dietary requirements to cater for and the team handled these with no issues. Overall the team are really experienced and made the day run really smoothly as well as looking after us throughout the whole process. Thank you Tudor Barn for a day of joyous memories!We had the most amazing wedding day at Tudor Barn. The building and grounds are so beautiful and a great space for guests to mingle and to take photos. Amazing day Amazing day
We got married at the Tudor barn on 15/05/2026 and the day was everything we could have hoped for I think for the price compared to some other venues it is a real steal As you have such beautiful areas for photos & exclusive hire of the venue which is great The staff on the day were amazing especially Phoebe and Amelia who Were both brilliant and went above and beyond And Faith who you speak to before to get all the meetings etc booked in is so lovely The only thing that I will say is the coordinator who you deal with when planning the wedding is not what I would have hoped for when organising one of the biggest days of your life. I would come off of the meeting calls with Suzi feeling deflated as she is quite rude and condescending. And then when it came to dropping the wedding decor she was rude and unwelcoming again to my family. We had our wedding at Tudor Barn Eltham in August and would highly recommend! We had around 80 guests and liked that everything was included in the package including venue hire, wedding coordinator, security and catering choices which made the whole process easier. From the initial viewing to the tasting and then actual wedding day everything went smoothly and the team kept us updated regularly and responded to all queries promptly throughout. Suzie was fantastic as our coordinator, we had regular meetings with her and she was so knowledgable and gave us lots of tips and advice. We had some last minute changes due to unforeseen circumstances but she was able to sort them out quickly which really alleviated the stress. On the day the team led by Georgia and Phoebe were so friendly and professional, everyone had a great time and we had the day that we had been dreaming of! The venue was beautiful and needed minimal extra decoration/flowers to arrange on our side, the food was great and the location was very convenient. The price was one of the most reasonable in London that we could find and we loved that it included the whole venue and grounds so felt very private. Overall great experience and would definitely recommend for an intimate, laid back but also picturesque venue.We had our wedding at Tudor Barn Eltham in August and would highly recommend! We had around 80 guests and liked that everything was included in the package including venue hire, wedding coordinator, security and catering choices which made the whole process easier. From the initial viewing to the tasting and then actual wedding day everything went smoothly and the team kept us updated regularly and responded to all queries promptly throughout. Suzie was fantastic as our coordinator, we had regular meetings with her and she was so knowledgable and gave us lots of tips and advice. We had some last minute changes due to unforeseen circumstances but she was able to sort them out quickly which really alleviated the stress. On the day the team led by Georgia and Phoebe were so friendly and professional, everyone had a great time and we had the day that we had been dreaming of! We got married at Tudor Barn in August 2025, and it was truly the most magical and unforgettable day of our lives. From the very beginning, Suzie was incredibly supportive - offering guidance, sharing her expertise, and making the whole planning process feel effortless and enjoyable. On the day itself, Georgia and the team stepped in and were simply amazing. Georgia kept us calm, informed, and made sure everything flowed seamlessly. In the evening, Darren took over and was just as attentive, ensuring everything continued to run smoothly so we could fully relax and enjoy every moment. The venue and its grounds are absolutely stunning and the venue itself only needs us to add fresh flower table centre pieces to bring it to life. You and your guests have the run of our Grade II* listed Tudor barn in the Royal Borough of Greenwich from 10am for supplier set up right through to midnight for your evening reception.

Our Tudor wedding venue in Eltham hosts everything from small, intimate weddings up to larger celebrations of 180 guests for a seated wedding breakfast, rising to 200 for your evening reception. Where can we hold our wedding ceremony at Tudor Barn Eltham?

You can choose from three beautiful ceremony settings at Tudor Barn Eltham. Inside our historic Tudor Gallery you can marry at the intimate fireplace end for up to 90 guests, or in the stunning Tudor Gallery for ceremonies up to 180. From April to September you can also say your vows outdoors on the Front Lawn for up to 180.

For specialist cuisines we do not offer ourselves, for example Caribbean, African, Asian or kosher menus, our semi dry hire option lets you bring in a caterer from our approved list, giving you full control over your menu while our team looks after the venue, bar and service. This means you can enjoy authentic cultural catering from trusted suppliers, without losing the support of our experienced events team or the charm of our historic Tudor setting in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Yes, our entertainment team, Staar Productions, can arrange talented in-house DJs, dance floors, photo booths, illuminated love letters and much more for your evening reception.
