The Cloisters is an extraordinary building designed according to the Arts and Crafts Movement. It has been designated as one of the 'great historic buildings of North Hertfordshire'. This unique, impressive building is a perfect venue in which to hold your special day. Why not get married in our temple and hold your celebrations in our banqueting hall? Have your photographs in our lovely grounds and enjoy some champagne in our bar. We have it all here. Whatever your catering requirements are, whether it’s a simple bite to eat, fork or finger buffet, sit-down meal or afternoon tea, you can be assured that it will be delivered to the highest of standards by our excellent in-house catering team. We pride ourselves on flexibility and choice, and would be pleased to assist you in making choices for you and your guests. Our fully stocked and licensed bar has a host of excellent wines, ales, beers, spirits and soft drinks, if required. We can cater for any size group, from a small, intimate gathering or for up to 180 guests. The Cloisters has free parking on-site for 80 vehicles, baby changing facilities and disabled access and facilities, with complimentary Wi-Fi in the banqueting hall. When you arrive here, you can meet with a member of our team who can show you around the venue and discuss your individual requirements. A visit to The Cloisters is highly recommended.

What and experience! What and experience!
From the very moment we walked into The Cloisters through to the time that we stumbled into our taxi after the day, it was amazing. The staff were so kind, caring and accommodating to all of our needs. Focussed on how we could get what we wanted and keep within our budget. There was no upselling, just exploration of what was available and bespoke to us. The team were brilliant and making sure that we were in control of the day, the costs and the experience but without the any additional worries. Every question we had came with a thoughtful answer that focussed on our wants. The organisation was amazing, the wedding wonderful, the wedding breakfast was delicious and the changeover of 120 people from a sit down meal to the reception party was done in a matter of minutes - we had no sooner finished our fizz than we were told we could, if we wanted, go in for our first dance. The professional liaison between The Cloisters and our photographer and other elements meant that we could focus on each other throughout the day and know that The Cloisters were making it work for us. An August WeddingAn August Wedding
We had our wedding reception at the Cloisters, the hospitality team were fantastic and the venue has unique architecture, which was the talking point for all our guests and moreover is steeped in history. A true gem, nestled in the heart of a Garden City. This venue for us ticked all our boxes; great food, lovely main function area, separate bar and lots of parking for guests! Amazing venue, so interesting with a mixture of modern and classic looks. We will be supplying a disco with elegant lighting solution for a 30th birthday party here in a few week. We may also supply a photo booth if required. Had the pleasure of attending our friend’s wedding in this historic & quirky venue. Had a fantastic time and was so impressed with the professionalism of the management & staff. The meal was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the staff couldn’t do enough for you.
