After viewing a handful of venues, we went for the Boat House and we haven't regretted it at all! From the initial booking of the wedding to the final moments, Lizzy and Abby and the rest of the team have been incredible. Nothing was too much trouble for them at all. They were many steps ahead at every point of the wedding journey, truly displaying the incredible expertise the team had, everything ran like clockwork. The gorgeous waterside location makes for the perfect backdrop for photos and ceremony, we are so glad the weather was on our side and got to have our ceremony and canapés outside, it really was incredible. We have had so many comments about the day and the food in particular where we have been told it was the best food many have had at a wedding ever and we don't disagree at all - it was insane! I don't feel like a review like this can do the team and venue justice. It was the second venue we had visited back in 2022 and knew it was the one we wanted and booked there and then! The team were incredible throughout the whole process and always happy and available to help whenever you needed them - even though we had booked a few years in advance! We had the pleasure of dealing with Lizzy for the majority of the run up to the wedding and she was so amazing, listening to my constant questions and me worrying about my youngest child walking down the aisle on the day! Nothing was too much for her and the team on the day of the wedding and because of this day we had the most amazing day with our family and friends. On a seperate note, the grounds are amazing for photos! We had such a lovely range of backgrounds with the lovely flowers and trees around the gardens! Cannot thank you all enough!! The team at Aston Mariana worked so hard to make sure that we had the most incredible day. From when we first visited on an open day, through to the minute we left the venue after the wedding, we were so well looked after and had every question and query answered to. They helped us put our vision together, and made sure that all of the suppliers were seen to so that we could focus on enjoying our big day. All of our guests said how impressed they were with both the venue and the staff. The food was amazing and everything ran so slick. We are so happy we chose this venue to enable us to have the most perfect day ever 🥰💍❤️We could not recommend this venue highly enough! Abby was absolutely amazing from the day we fell in love with and booked the venue. We have taken so long to review purely because we simply can’t put it into words how unbelievably perfect our day was and don’t even know where to start with a review!! We got married on the 19th May, one of the best days in May for weather so we cannot complain one bit! 😜 We cannot thank the staff enough for their support for the year and half build up to the wedding, nothing was too much of an ask and nothing was a silly question or suggestion. You know when you pay for something and basically once you’ve paid, that’s it with the good service? Not at the boathouse that’s for sure!!! They go above and over with EVERYTHING they do and on the day, they were always one step ahead of us with making sure everything just ran so perfectly as it did! Everything felt so organised leading up to it and we didn’t have to worry about a thing! We had Beckie doing most of our organising and she is just so perfect at her job, and the most kind, wonderful person we have ever met! Beckie and Alex were on hand the morning/day of the wedding ensuring everything was as perfect as we’d ever dreamt it to be - and helped keep me calm 🤣 All the staff there are amazing and especially on the day when Ash was on hand to help with literally anything I needed, from grabbing a half eaten icecream off me, to pinning up my dress despite the difficulties of it 🤣 Her and Lauren was always making sure everything felt relaxed and perfect and we couldn’t have asked for anymore! Even stayed with us until we got into the taxi safely and that meant so much to us! We could go on for days talking about the staff and how unreal our day was. Everyone said how AMAZING the food was, even the photographer who’s tried loads of venue food!! And we even had people comment and ask where we found such incredible staff, so nothing went unnoticed. The day was everything and more I could have ever wished for. Nothing was ever too much trouble and cannot fault the staff and service one little bit. Rebecca and Paige were fantastic from the minute we booked until the day after the wedding when they helped make sure our belongings were safe. We dealt with Beckie for all of our booking and organising and she was incredible. Nothing was too much effort and she even helped us with smaller details we maybe weren’t sure on. She took in every little detail we wanted and she was nothing but accommodating if we changed our minds. When setting up and on the day we dealt with Paige who was equally as wonderful. Once again nothing was too much detail and she continued to check in with us through out the day. The organising of our wedding day and the day itself was perfect from start to finish and a very large part of that was due to the whole team at the Boat House. From the start Beckie was so helpful making sure everything was explained to us and ran smoothly. Then on the day all the staff were super friendly and helpful. All our guested praised them for such a well run day. As for the venue itself, it's beautiful. There are so many lovely places to take photos and plenty of room for lots of guests. My bridesmaids and I had a lovely room to get ready in.We got married at the Boat House on June 16th and there are not enough words to describe how perfect the day was. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
That is such a difficult question as every single one of our weddings is special to us, but our current favourite has to be a beautiful intimate wedding celebration we hosted on 1st November 2020. This couple were devastatingly forced to postpone their wedding at incredibly short notice back in March 2020 when the national lockdown was announced, so when their big day FINALLY arrived it was one of pure happiness and celebration as they married in one of the most emotional ceremonies we've ever had the pleasure of hosting, surrounded by their very nearest and dearest. After such a rollercoaster ride of a year it meant the world to us to finally see them tie the knot and it was a day we will never forget!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Keep calm! We know sometimes it can be easier said then done, but we've seen so many couples almost ruin it for themselves because they have got so stressed about details that in the end don't matter. Remember to stay calm and try to enjoy the planning. Everything goes by so quick...enjoy it!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
The couple had a young son whose favourite movie was Toy Story. So as a beautiful nod to him, they walked back up the aisle to the featured song 'You've Got a Friend in Me'.

There are so many amazing photo opportunities at The Boat House, however we absolutely adore photos overlooking the marina.

There's so many to choose from, but a classic favourite is always our mini toad in the hole with braised onions & champ mash!

There is nothing better than a delicious doughnut tower for your guests to enjoy a sweet treat whilst dancing the night away.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our stunning permanent lighting feature - the perfect backdrop to the first dance!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We were so proud to be awarded The Wedding Industry Awards West Midlands Events Team of the Year 2020 and Bridebook Wedding Venue of The Year in 2019.
