This magnificent townhouse hotel, set on 4 acres of beautiful English country gardens with a 1-acre lake, is remarkably close to the city centre. The 500-year-old building was converted into a hotel in 1965. This distinguished hotel boasts 30 luxurious bedrooms, expansive gardens, and a picturesque lake. - SSarah & Graham27/05/2025The wedding we had dreamed of!The wedding we had dreamed of!We had our wedding here on 3 May 2025. To say the day was magical would be an understatement. We had filled the hotel rooms with all our friends and family so were lucky to have the hotel exclusively for the day. The whole team were fantastic, looking after me and my family who arrived the day before; and not only working hard with all our suppliers to transform the hotel for our wedding; but also checking in regularly with me and the bridal party to make sure we had what we needed and managing our timings. Christina, Ussha and their events team were the beating heart in making sure our vision was realised. Nitin created the most wonderful menu for both meat eaters and vegetarians. One of my friends commented “this is not normal wedding food, this is awesome” and he was right. We were blessed with the best weather and the hotel really shone out as a beautiful venue. With our ceremony taking place outside along with the drinks reception; and the wedding breakfast being in the beautiful orangery. To anyone considering this venue for their wedding. Stop considering and book it now. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks to all the team for giving me and my husband the wedding of our dreams.We had our wedding here on 3 May 2025. We booked our wedding the night of our first visit. Since booking it there has been a bit of change in staffing in the events team but the girls and guys who looked after our wedding were amazing. The room we stayed in was fab as well and all guests that stayed all commented on their lovely room also. A massive thank you to jasmine, Jess and the rest of the team for the smooth running of our big day. No request. Was too much for them and they even did a few things that really helped. Without being asked. The staff are all excellent representatives of the hotel and provided a brilliant service. If you’re looking for a wedding venue. Lovely hotel, Staff really helpful and attentive, All interaction with the staff was friendly and positive, Particularly girl on reception with glasses black guy who helped my wife with the suitcases, And lastly the good looking barman with the goaty / beard who's mom was the photographer, Excellent location ample car parking, Well kept beer, Individual rooms ensuite, Some of which have been redecorated, The room we stayed in Maple was tired but completely comfortable with all we needed, We requested a room with a bath and this is what we got, With an excellent shower as well.. This is a listed building so no lift's, Couldn't fault the hotel.Family wedding venue.
