Description
We are a friendly and romantic hidden gem that can host civil ceremonies, wedding breakfasts and evening receptions all in one exclusive venue. We are licensed for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies for up to 120 guests. We offer post ceremony drinks and photographs in the stunning gardens with the amazing backdrop of the Medieval Coach House. Your wedding continues with a breakfast or high tea in the Grand Library or on the lawn. In the evening your guests up to 150 can retreat to the Coach House for an evening of laughter and fun on the dance floor, in the sofa lounge and vintage bar. We are full licensed and offer a cash bar service for guests in the evening.
The Bride’s room is an intimate private room with dressing table and sofas for the stars of the day to relax and prepare yourselves for the day or evening.
We do all we can to look after you before and during your wedding day. Many previous clients have particularly thanked us for offering help, guidance and generally reducing any stress. Nothing pleases us more than to be a small part of a beautiful day. Should you choose to hold your wedding with us at Rownhams House you can be assured that we only host one occasion a weekend.
And unlike many venues, Rownhams House has always been a home. The existing house was built as a result of a shocking love story set in the mysterious Near East. And over the centuries it has seen its fair share of passion and intrigue.
If you choose to celebrate your special occasion at Rownhams House you will be adding to this story. The house is owned and loved by a family who are there at a discreet distance should you need them.
Since every wedding is different we do have a selection of choices and prices. We can also cope very well with ‘short notice’ weddings, provided it does not impinge upon another event.

Enjoy hours of relaxed set up time before your wedding leaving you at ease to enjoy your special day knowing everything is just as you had imagined it.

Our wedding venue hire charge includes the following up to 10 6ft round tables to seat 120 guests, up to 120 chairs, wooden easel for seating plan, beautiful silver cake stand and knife, music system and red carpet for ceremonies, outdoor bar, fully licensed indoor bar with staffing for the evening only. Exclusive use of the Main House for ceremonies and a wedding breakfast and Coach House for the evening reception which includes a bar, chesterfield sofa room, dining area, food area and dance floor. You will have access on the Friday to set up, exclusive use on the Saturday for your wedding and access on Sunday morning to pick up your personal decorations.

Nigel and Helen were excellent in the face of our enquiries in the lead up to the big day, and everything ran without a hitch. As a worrier and a perfectionist, I can be difficult to reassure, but this was never an issue for Nigel and Helen. They clearly know what they’re doing but at no point does that make it feel ‘run of the mill’; our day felt personal, well organised and special. The house will hold a place in our hearts and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others as a venue nor to return for other events in the future.We recently held our summer wedding at Rownhams House and what a wonderful day we had. They think of every last thing and their can do attitude helps to make all your dreams a reality. My grandad, who was walking me down the aisle, was unexpectedly diagnosed with terminal cancer and when I contacted them one Saturday asking if there was any chance he could visit so he knew what he was working towards they didn’t think twice before making it happen. It meant the world to me, and it was this type of attitude that was carried through the entire year of planning and during the wedding day. I genuinely could not rate them highly enough, if I could give them 100 stars I would! We visited some venues that felt just like wedding factories. Rownhams house couldn’t be more different from that. If you are a looking for a wedding venue that has the extravagant feel of downtown abbey with the homely and warm feeling of home, this is absolutely the venue for you.
