The previous named ‘New Hall’ dates back to 1573 and built by the Earl and Countess of Shrewsbury. With a rich history that dates back thousands of years and includes some notable guests such as Mary Queen of Scots who was under house arrest in the keeper-ship of the Shrewsbury’s. The Old Hall now stands as one of the spa town’s most popular places to stay. Situated directly opposite the beautiful Pavilion Gardens and the famous Buxton Opera House, the hotel is an ideal wedding venue. We are able to hold Civil Ceremonies and Partnerships inside the Cavendish Suite for an intimate ceremony and the Restaurant for a larger party, alternatively, there are a number of alluring local churches within the Spa Town. The Restaurant provides the perfect setting for your special day, accommodating 90 day guests and 150 evening. Exclusive to one wedding a day and home to over thirty unique bedrooms, each room has been sympathetically furnished in keeping with the age of the hotel, with modern and comfortable furnishings, there’s plenty of space for your friends and family to celebrate in style.
