Located in the charming village of Oaksey, this village hall offers a warm and adaptable space to celebrate your wedding day. Opened in September 2000 by HRH The Prince of Wales, the hall blends modern amenities with simple, timeless elegance. Its plain walls and wooden floors create a blank canvas, ready for you to bring your unique wedding vision to life. Situated next to the village green and playing fields, it provides a beautiful countryside backdrop for your special moments.

Flexible Spaces Tailored to Your Wedding

Oaksey Village Hall features two versatile event spaces that can be rented separately or together, giving you the privacy and intimacy you want for your wedding celebration. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a larger party, this venue adapts to your needs.

• The John Assheton Hall: This is the larger main hall, measuring 14.6m by 8.5m. It’s bright and airy, with a 4.27m by 8.5m stage perfect for live entertainment or your top table. Large French doors open onto a sunny, south-facing terrace with a lovely rose garden and stunning countryside views—ideal for photos or mingling.
• The Rest: A cozy, carpeted side room (6.4m by 4.6m) that can be used on its own or as an extension of the main hall. It has doors leading to the playing field, a great spot if you want to add a marquee. Plus, it includes a small serving hatch to the kitchen for easy food service.

Capacity and Amenities Designed for Your Comfort

The hall comfortably hosts 100 to 150 guests, making it perfect for wedding receptions of various sizes. To support your big day, the venue offers a range of practical features:

• A fully equipped kitchen (note: not a full catering kitchen). For larger events, 'The Rest' room can be used to expand food prep and serving space.
• 20 tables and 120 stacking chairs, plus over 100 matching sets of crockery, cutlery, and assorted glassware—everything you need for dining.
• A public address system with microphone and CD player, ideal for speeches and music. Uplighters are available to create a warm, intimate atmosphere in the evening.
• An upstairs committee room perfect as a dressing room for the wedding party.
• Outdoor essentials including garden tables, chairs, parasols, and two gazebos to enhance your celebration outside.

Wedding Package and Licensing

The venue offers a special wedding package that includes exclusive use of the entire hall from 2 pm Friday through all day Saturday until noon Sunday. This generous timing gives you plenty of space for setup, your celebration, and cleanup. The hall is fully licensed for alcohol and both live and recorded music, so you can enjoy your day without restrictions.
