The service was also excellent, many people commented on how efficiently the food was brought out. Thanks for all your help over the last few months, despite the weather everything went really well and we had a great day. We chose Murrayshall as our wedding venue due to the beautiful grounds and classy building, with some really nice Scottish details weaved throughout. In the lead up, there were a few changes in the wedding planning team, which caused some communication issues, but our wedding co-ordinator Alison in the couple of months before was absolutely terrific. Experienced, positive, attentive, with a great eye for detail - she was a great comfort for us in the lead up and during the day itself. The rooms in the hotel were beautiful and the spaces for our ceremony and evening reception were terrific. The food was fantastic at the wedding breakfast and the kitchen were brilliantly accommodating to our guests’ dietary requirements. The turnaround of the rooms between ceremony and dinner was seamless, and the catering staff were really attentive to our guests. There were a few details through the day that could have been improved, however. A lack of communication between the wedding team and hotel staff resulted in some of our guest’s items being put in our bridal suite by accident. There was also a bit of a lack of control around the planned entrance for our guests arriving and entering the ceremony room as well, which impacted some of our planned videography. Any of these minor details we think were down to the venue still gaining experience as a wedding host and the bad weather we had on the day added some extra complication. Overall - we were delighted with the day and service we received. The venue was absolutely perfect and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our experience was unforgettable. We felt at ease with the planning in the lead up to the big day and everything ran perfectly, taking away any stresses we had. Our wedding at Murrayshall on 2.6.23 was every bit as amazing as we had hoped. Alison Grant is a credit to the hotel and was friendly, professional and really knowledgeable which put me at ease throughout the process. Every part of our day was brilliant from the food, bar, dance and the organisation was fantastic. We picked the most perfect venue and can't thank you all enough for the perfect day. We had a wonderful wedding day at Murrayshall Country House. All of the staff went above and beyond for us and our guests. They were friendly, accommodating and attentive throughout the whole day. We had the most amazing, special dayWe had the most amazing, special day
My husband and I had our wedding at Murrayshall on the 20th May 2023 and we had the most amazing, special day! We fell in love with Murrayshall when we viewed it in 2022- the views surrounding it are breathtaking but the hotel itself and the gardens are also beautiful. The location was perfect for us as we had guests coming from Dundee and Perth, we also had guests from further afield who either stayed at Murrayshall or were able to find local hotels nearby. Alison Grant was our wedding coordinator and I am so glad! She really listened to all our ideas and answered any questions we had. We were so thankful for how calm and friendly she is as she really made us feel at ease during wedding planning- which can of course be stressful! Alison and the rest of the team at Murrayshall worked really hard to make sure our wedding day ran really smoothly, it was important to us to have a relaxed, fun vibe and they helped make this happen. They communicated really well with all our suppliers- our florist in particular was really impressed by the team. Murrayshall work with Grand Dreams who provided us with chair covers and a light wall- they are also a fantastic company and we were very pleased that the chair covers were included in our package. I stayed overnight at Murrayshall the night before the wedding in the Lyndoch Suite with my bridesmaids, we then got ready in the suite on the day of the wedding. The Lyndoch Suite was the perfect place to get ready as there is so much room! There was eight of us getting ready in the room- including two very excited little flower girls who had enough space to play, and my make up artist, hairdresser and photographer. Alison was also really present on the day popping in to check we were all ok and spending time chatting to myself and my husband who was anxiously waiting for me to get ready. I was worried about walking from the suites to the main hotel but staff drove me down in a golf buggy which was great and made for some very funny photographs. We chose to have our ceremony inside which was lovely, but the garden is also a gorgeous location if people want to get married outside. We had our photographs done outside in the gardens as we fell in love with the rhododendrons that were in full bloom. The food at Murrayshall is superb. We went to try the tasting menu a few months before our wedding so we could sample different dishes- it was really hard to choose as the food was amazing! We had some guests with allergies and other dietary needs and the chef was more than happy to cater for this and change some dishes for us. On the day I was really pleased with the food and a lot of our guests commented on how lovely it was. One of our guests is vegan and commented that it was the best vegan dish they'd ever had at a wedding. Staff serving the meal were quick and professional and people didn't have to wait long for their meals. We had our reception in the same room we had our meal and the turnaround for this was so quick and easy- the team have everything down to a fine art and it was done so smoothly- meaning that our band could get set up fast. We had let staff know our favourite drinks meaning that the bar was stocked with these- guests from overseas were impressed by the different whiskys also! My 91 year old grandmother had traveled over from Ireland for our wedding and her mobility is quite poor- staff were brilliant with her, they brought her a comfy chair through for the meal and then arranged it so she could sit and watch all the dancing at our reception afterwards. She also had a ground floor disabled room and was very impressed by it. Guests who chose to stay in the Hotel all commented that there rooms were lovely and they really enjoyed their breakfast the next morning! We stayed in the Murray Suite on the night of our wedding which was gorgeous and a lovely, luxurious treat. Staff had brought up some of our wedding cake to the room for us too which was great. I had a bubble bath in the huge bath in the morning which was amazing after all the dancing the night before! We LOVED our wedding at Murrayshall and would recommend it as wedding venue in a heartbeat. If you are thinking about booking it for your wedding, you should. You won’t be disappointed!! The hotel and rooms are to a very high standard. We were married in the secret rose garden which was beautiful, we used the private dining room, function room, function bar, facilities and lots of our guests stayed over. We were blessed to have Laura-Event and Wedding Executive on the lead up to our wedding who put us at ease and pulled everything together. On the day of the wedding Laura & Alison were great. Jason our MC was fantastic.The hotel and rooms are to a very high standard. As a wedding photographer this is one of my favourite venues to shoot at. I recently had a wedding here and it was a perfect day from start to finish. Alison and her team were amazing and had everything running smoothly and on time. The rooms were all set up beautifully and the staff were friendly, polite and helpful.If you are looking for somewhere to get beautiful wedding photos taken then you should seriously consider Murrayshall.
