Set 4 miles from the breathtakingly beautiful North Devon Coast this family run complex is peacefully located within 12 acres of grounds surrounded by nature, with outstanding views over the glorious Devon countryside. Moorhead Country Weddings is the perfect choice for any couples DIY Wedding, for both intimate and larger events. You can choose to use the grounds with plenty of space for a marquee for up to 200 guests, or our indoor function area for up to 70 sit down guests, both providing a staffed bar. The venue is exclusively for you and those extra special people in your life. Moorhead provides the flexibility to transform your wedding into your own unique design, accommodating any style, whether, rustic, vintage, festival, tipi or just keep it traditional! There are a number of ceremony spots, choose from the natural green environment, woodland area or stunning fishing lake. For a chilled out experience there is plenty of outside space for all your activities and games. Turn your wedding dreams into reality at our sustainable venue. You'll be free to create a completely individual day. The hire of our venue includes exclusive use of the grounds for 1 - 3 days. At Moorhead you can be as creative as you want to be, ready for the "I do" You can take a walk around the woodland path or our beautiful lake before returning to your celebrations. You and your guests can be accommodated together, as our complex comprises of 15 self catering properties sleeping up to 50 guests. This includes the wedding apartment with dressing area. Also our attached barn complex which offers 6 apartments for couples, perfect for your principal guests. The complex has ample parking for your guests, fantastic on-site facilities including a fully licensed bar, heated indoor swimming pool and hot tub area, a gym, fishing lake, full size snooker table and a games room with pool table, table football and darts. There is plenty to keep you entertained at Moorhead.

Incredible, The best weekend ever!Incredible, The best weekend ever!
We made the fantastic decision to book with Mandy and Tom at Moorhead for our wedding, we got married at the local church and from the lawn at Moorhead you have a perfect view of the church and village, which was so special for us. From our initial enquiry to the wedding day, Mandy and Tom could not have been more helpful! They were really quick to give responses from our other suppliers and kept in contact with us through the planning process. Our guests stayed from Friday to Sunday and we had so many compliments on the venue and accommodation. We used their lovely horse box bar for both our welcome party on Friday and on the wedding day on Saturday and it looked great next to the sailcloth marquee we had hired. We ordered food with Moorhead for Friday which was delicious and there was such a chilled atmosphere in the garden and in the bar, It was such a family friendly venue and our guests loved using the pool on Friday evening and Saturday morning. We booked breakfast with Moorhead for both days of our stay, which was great! - If you're looking for a DIY venue with great accommodation then Moorhead is perfect! We could not recommend enough! We are so pleased we found Moorhead country weddings, the lake was the most tranquil and peaceful place for our ceremony. It was a day we will never forget. The function area was just perfect for our wedding celebrations to continue. The best weekendThe best weekend
As soon as we saw what Moorhead had to offer we knew straightaway that it was where we wanted to get married. The grounds, complex and apartments are amazing. Mandy and her family are very helpful, answer any questions, and gave great advice for ideas. They were also able to recommend outside suppliers. It was great having the bar onsite for the night before and on the day. It was also so amazing to have the luxury of staying in the apartments the night before, our friends and family were able to have quality time catching up and getting to know new. We had the best day ever and couldn’t have asked for it to go anymore smoothly. Your venue is just lovely, the views are beautiful. The grounds worked perfectly for our chilled garden picnic wedding. It was a worry not having a marquee as the weather is always a worry, but great knowing that we could use the indoor function area and bar if we needed to! We would love to do it all again! What an amazing hidden treasure this is, location perfect for Fishing on site in a well stocked Lake, beautiful 100° Country views everywhere you look. Well thought out beautifully clean. Heated indoor swimming pool & Hot Tub. Lovely Restaurant with homecooked reasonable price meals. Very friendly bar with outside seating. The best Apperol Spritz ever, Thank you. I have been lucky to visit and cater at a few beautiful weddings at Moorhead and it’s one of my favourite venues. Not only does it have a lot of space to accommodate many people, but it also feels quite intimate. The stunning surroundings make it perfect for a countryside wedding.
