You’ll feel the history the moment you arrive at our charming Georgian mansion house. That’s because previous residents include King William III and Peter the Great, and Sir Mortimer Signer of the Singer sewing machine family—responsible for the grand modifications to the house and estate in the early 1900s.
These days the house, bedrooms, and every detail can be tailored entirely around you. And if you have always dreamed of an outdoor wedding, we have a licensed pergola, where family and friends can sit on the lawn and watch the ceremony with a backdrop of the Italian fountain and olive trees.
An elegant look throughout, Milton Hill has an extensive range of accommodation along with a gym, indoor heated pool, spa, sauna, five-a-side football pitch, and croquet lawn. We also offer a range of delectable dining options in our renowned restaurant and bar.
Offering 21 contemporary event suites with natural light, free Wi-Fi throughout the property, and a dedicated in-house events team, the venue is ideal for meetings, training, and conferences for up to 200. We quickly booked a viewing and decided almost immediately that it was where we wanted to have our special day. From the very start, we were impressed with the level of detail provided, from the cost for our number of guests to sample menus and everything in between. The beauty of the manor, the extensive grounds, and the spacious, elegant wedding breakfast and party rooms along with being able to hold the ceremony on-site all made our decision much easier. We booked the venue before the recent redecoration, and although we were a little nervous about the work being completed so close to the big day, everything was finished in time and the refreshed spaces looked even better. Our wedding coordinator changed not long before the wedding, which also made us a bit anxious, but Charlotte and the team stepped up, tied up all the loose ends, and really put us at ease during a transition period for the venue. We needn’t have worried. Charlotte worked closely with our decorating company, Dean’s Events, to help make the rooms truly stand out and we couldn’t have been happier with the results. On the day itself, every element ran smoothly. The team checked in on us, guided our guests, and handled the transition between the meal and the evening party discreetly and with real precision. We loved staying in the Manor over the weekend, and the B&B breakfast area and food were gorgeous, a lovely addition to the whole experience. The interior of the venue is stunning and very elegant, and the catering options were also fantastic. Aiden was also incredible and helped ensure everything ran smoothly during the evening reception and wedding breakfast. The staff were all amazing and very accommodating to our more strange requests - we had arranged for an owl ringbearer and they were all extremely supportive of our wedding choices. Overall the best experience of our lives and we were so grateful that we were able to have our wedding at Milton Hill. The plentiful outside space allowed our guests to socialise and have drinks on the patio in between photos. The wedding breakfast was delicious, and we were really impressed with how well the team catered for all our dietary requirements without any fuss. It made all our guests feel so well looked after. We also really appreciated the recommended vendors we connected with through their wedding fayres - they were all fantastic and contributed so much to making the day feel personal and special. Aiden did an amazing job with the weather deciding it didn't like us with less than 1/2 hour to go, And there was some confusion with some of our evening guests turning up in the daytime - Aiden sorted that out too. Also a big thankyou to your [night] staff who helped the father of the bride in getting dressed in the middle of the night!! He was somewhat disoriented due to jet lag. In fact all your staff were fantastic. Well, we finally did it. Thank you Ellie for organizing a fantastic day. The day from start to finish was perfect and the service was outstanding. All our guest needs were met in terms of accessibility and we were thrilled that our fire performer has able to perform on site. The grounds are beautiful and we were able to get lots of fantastic photos with the contrasting scenery - trees, Italian garden, long grass etc. The planning process was straightforward and all our venders enjoyed working with the venue's staff. An enchanting building with the potential to hold the ceremony outside in the Italian garden sold it to us. The staff were all excellent at managing the details for the wedding day and at keeping our stress levels to a minimum. Having decided to hold the ceremony outside we were of course at the mercy of the weather. No problem, the staff had a 'plan B' to move the ceremony indoors if necessary. Thankfully the weather was kind to us and the ceremony, followed by a wedding breakfast and evening entertainment with buffet meant that the day eventually ended at midnight. The staff were in attendance all day and evening to attend to any request. To all aspiring brides and grooms, we can thoroughly recommend Milton Hill House as a wedding venue. Take your time! You definitely want to enjoy your Wedding planning process. I advise not to rush and to take your time and make sure to have your friends and family help where they can.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
A Wedding I have attend, the Bride and Groom had a box of "date night ideas" where the guests would anonymously write on a piece of paper and drop it into a box. Even to this day, the Bride and Groom are making monthly date nights with the suggestions!
