Nestled in the Hertfordshire countryside, just 25 miles from London, Micklefield Hall is a stunning country venue. Steeped in history and surrounded by stunning gardens, Micklefield Hall is an all-inclusive and exclusive venue, boasting an award winning, Grade II listed, 16th Century, Tithe barn, romantic temple, rose gardens, and rolling lawns, providing the perfect back drop to any special occasion. There are 6 double en-suite bedrooms on site and a shepherd's hut which makes a perfect honeymoon suite for your first night as a married couple. With a choice of three licensed areas for civil ceremonies, plenty of space for up to 200 guests and our exclusive caterers, Micklefield Hall is the perfect venue for your country wedding.

The location was fantastic for our friends travelling from afar and into London. The venue was really impressive from the grounds to the Barn without being overly formal and had so much charm and character. We loved how it was family run and how attentive everyone was, made us feel so relaxed from start to finish and was such an added bonus to booking the venue.From the moment we saw it and met the lovely staff we knew it was perfect for us. We've had loads of compliments from guests on how stunning it was, and I was so pleased with how it worked given the time of year to have multiple spaces that were such high quality! Our favourite moments were standing waiting to walk down the aisle being counted in by your team and seeing Luke’s face as I walked towards him at the temple & walking into the barn for the first time and seeing how beautiful it looked. It is the most beautiful setting, the grounds, the barn, the space…it just felt so special when we first arrived and I think that’s what is important, that we both knew we loved it. Our favourite moments were standing waiting to walk down the aisle being counted in by your team and seeing Luke’s face as I walked towards him at the temple & walking into the barn for the first time and seeing how beautiful it looked.

It was all amazing - just keep doing what you are doing! We would love to visit again sometime and if there are ever non-wedding events available to attend such as evening events/ dinners. She was so helpful in the lead-up to the wedding, always quick to respond to my questions and provide reassurance. We loved the barn aesthetic but also wanted a touch of elegance, which the temple and the grounds provided. Having rooms to stay in on the wedding night was also a plus. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
It was a winter wonderland wedding that had the most stunning styling throughout the entire day. From the wedding stationary to the flowers, the bride's dress to the sparklers in the cloistered walkway at night. Such a special and beautiful event!

Keep in communication with your venue and caterer and make sure they are working together to deliver you a stunning day.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Colour coordinated flip flops for the guests when their feet tire in the evening after all of their dancing!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
In front of our temple on the grand stone stairs at night. The photographer (Sarah Legge) used up lighting to create such a dramatic effect as the Bride and Groom kissed
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We have had a few over the many years that Micklefield Hall has been hosting weddings but we always protect the privacy of our VIP guests!
What’s your favourite canapé?
The roast beef with horseradish sauce in mini Yorkshire puddings
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Woody's Wood Fired Pizzas do the most delicious mini pizzas for guests to keep them going!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our romantic temple that sits proudly in front of our circular pond, nestled underneath the ancient oak tree. A romantic gift from the old owner of Micklefield Hall to his wife.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
The relationship we build with our Brides and Grooms. We are a small but perfectly formed team, which includes the owners of Micklefield Hall Jamie and Anna Rankin. What other venues have the owners cooking your guests breakfast the next morning, or driving the children down to see our rare breed pigs, or helping the Bride to carry the train of her dress as she prepares to walk down the aisle? Jamie and Anna love hosting weddings and are the embodiment of 'the personal touch' that makes Micklefield Hall so special.
