As a DIY venue we provide the space for you to craft your perfect day – there are no cookie-cutter packages, no corkage, no constraints - every event bubbles with its own individual character. We have a long list of local suppliers from marquee companies to musicians, but you can organise your days however you wish.

The setting is beautiful looking over the valley with loads of photo opportunities around the venue. Charlie and Bert were incredible hosts and were so welcoming. We have had a couple of holidays and our wedding at Little Quarme, and every time we go, they take fantastic care of us. For a holiday, the cottages are in a fantastic location, well equipped and spotlessly clean. For a wedding, you will not find another venue that takes as much interest and guides you through the planning process with such a calm and reassuring wisdom. The great thing about a wedding at Little Quarme is that you can build your day how you want it to look, which feels like a lot of work but gives such brilliant results. Our guests were all amazed at the location and when the sun came out in the evening, we were given an even more beautiful backdrop for our photos. We spent the whole weekend with our family and friends in all of the cottages. They were clean, comfortable and extremely homely. Katherine and Nick were very friendly and accommodating hosts. Nothing was too much trouble in the planning of our wedding. They were very helpful in supplying with us information of some great local suppliers. We had the most amazing wedding day at Little Quarme. It was the perfect venue for us and the best part is we can return for years to come to celebrate our anniversary and with our family and friends. We stayed there from Friday to Sunday and used all the cottages for ourselves, friends and family. Katherine and Nick were incredible! They advised us on local people/company's to use for our wedding day who had been at the venue before. They had all the cottages squeaky clean and looking beautiful ready for the big weekend and happily made changes or additions if and when we required it. They also left a wedding gift in our cottage along with a bottle of prosecco which was a lovely little surprise! They offered tea and scones to all of us the afternoon we arrived which was muchly appreciated after the travel up and spending the morning setting up for our wedding the next day. As for Little Quarme itself, it's unbeleivably beautiful. The surroundings look like it goes on forever. Its the perfect little get away if you need to get away from all the hussle and bustle of busy life but its got such a romantic vibe to it as well, perfect for an intimate outdoor ceremony. It photographs extremely well, beautiful backdrop for those all important wedding pics! We felt our wedding day/weekend was as perfect as it could have been. What makes Little Quarme Cottages a unique wedding venue in Somerset?
Little Quarme Cottages offers a stunning rural setting with exceptional views across the Quarme Valley. Unlike traditional venues, it encourages couples to design their own perfect wedding day without preset packages, fostering a relaxed, rustic atmosphere often complemented by a festival vibe. We are also trying to make weddings more affordable again, our day weddings start at only £300 and our two night weddings are well under £3,000, while our Wedding Weeks allows guests to have a nice holiday while reducing the cost of your ceremony.
Where in England is Little Quarme Cottages located?
Little Quarme Farm is just outside of Wheddon Cross, the highest village on Exmoor National Park, and less than 20 minutes from the coast. The vistas are simply stunning with no other homes in view, yet it is also just a 10 minute walk from a pub, shop, and petrol station along a quiet bridleway. Perched on a hillside, the wedding area looks down the Quarme Valley, surrounded by our fields that you can walk through.
We are only 45 minutes from the M5, and served well with towns like Minehead and Dulverton within easy reach. Exeter Airport is less than an hour away, Bristol Airport is around 90 minutes away, with both Birmingham Airport and Heathrow being about 3hrs away. Taunton and Tiverton railway stations are well connected and about 40 mins away for those wanting to come by rail.
Can we hold our wedding ceremony outdoors at Little Quarme?
Yes, Little Quarme features an outdoor wedding gazebo, a marquee lawn, and a terrace area perfect for ceremonies and post-ceremony celebrations, all boasting exceptional views across the valley.
Are there catering options available at Little Quarme Cottages?
Catering is typically informal and rustic, often featuring hog roasts, BBQs, or vintage picnics using fresh Somerset produce. Couples can tailor their catering choices to suit their wedding style and we provide a brochure of an eclectic range of caterers, chefs, and food trucks who have been here before - though you can chose whoever you like. Some guests bring their own food prepared by family members in advance - we've even had the occasional 'cake-off' by mothers of the couple!
Is accommodation available on-site for wedding guests?
Yes, when you hold a reception at Little Quarme, the on-site self-catering cottages are included in the price, providing accommodation for up to 22 guests and exclusive use of the site. In addition, we have space for some camper vans and camping, while we can also provide space for hired glamping options. We also provide a list of local accomodation - we can sleep over 80 additional guests within walking distance of Little Quarme.
Can we have a wedding ceremony at Little Quarme without a reception, or visa versa?
Absolutely, ceremonies can be held independently of a reception, offering flexibility for couples who may prefer an intimate or shorter event. These start from only £300 and, if you wish, you can extend them into a garden party or BBQ. Equally, if you would like to go through the formal process in a religious building, Registry Office, or even Post Office, and then come here for your reception, you're most welcome. We quite often have unofficial ceremonies hosted by celebrants for couples who are renewing vows or recently got married abroad.
Does Little Quarme provide wedding planning assistance?
While the venue promotes a do-it-yourself approach, the team is on hand to offer help and advice during the planning process if you desire, ensuring your day comes together perfectly without added stress. On the day, we are on hand to help with tasks like managing the car park, and lighting the fire pits, and even playing the music for the ceremony.
What kind of atmosphere can we expect at a Little Quarme wedding?
Most weddings at Little Quarme embody relaxed, rustic affairs occasionally with a festival vibe. It's a casual and natural environment designed to reflect your unique wedding personality.
Is the venue exclusive to one wedding at a time?
Yes, when you book Little Quarme for your wedding reception, you gain exclusive use of the entire site including grounds, gardens, and cottages, ensuring privacy and intimacy for your special day. With Day Weddings we may have guests staying in the cottages, but we inform everyone in advance so your wedding won't be disturbed. We never have more than one ceremony a day so things aren't rushed!
