With the Atlantic Ocean as your backdrop, Hotel Victoria boasts one of Newquay’s most elegant and historic locations for weddings. The hotel, built in an era of magnificent splendour offers plenty of inspiration with high ceilings, grand chandeliers and large bay windows.

As you make your way down the Victorian stone stairs and red carpet to meet your groom you will feel the excitement building as your guests stand to see you walk down the aisle. You both say your vows under the Pergola surrounded by your family and friends with the sun shining and the waves crashing behind you.
As your guests stand to offer their congratulations the champagne and canapes begins to flow, you both head to the beach for some perfect photos with the sand beneath your feet and big smiles on your faces.
Traditionally the wedding breakfast is your first meal together as husband and wife and can be served in our sea view dining room with high ceilings, grand chandeliers and large bay windows.
In the evening our Ocean View Ballroom welcomes your guests to celebrate and dance the night away in style, with its own bar, dance floor and stage.

Everyone worked tirelessly moving tables etc around preparing the room(s) & made sure the day went like clockwork (even in that heat). From arrival in reception to our departure, the service we received was second to none & as we understand from Sam & Abbi, everyone was really helpful, courteous & efficient, right from their initial contact with you. I had only 11 weeks to organise the details and Sarah Mitchell and her team were fantastic. Everything was arranged via email as we live over 200 miles away and I couldn't have asked for better service. Sarah arranged a menu to suit our tastes and took delivery of our 4 tier cheese "cake" for us. She also arranged rooms for all our family and friends despite a lot of indecision. When we arrived the day before there was so much help to set up the table decorations. They also set up the chairs with the covers and baby blue sashes for us to see. Sarah asked for instructions on where to put the decorations for us for the day. On the day itself we couldn't have asked for more. Everything was perfect. The Sun Lounge looked beautiful with the sea view obviously helping. All the tables and the room had been carefully decorated and the white carpet had been rolled out ready. Sarah even sat out of sight to play the music during the ceremony. All our guests commented on the high quality of the food and how good it was that it was all hot (which is not always the case when a lot of people need to be served). This reduced the stress significantly of planning our wedding and having Sarah over seeing everything was a god send. The food was amazing and all my guests commented on how nice all of the food was especially the wedding breakfast. Feedback from friends and family said it was by far the best atmosphere and so relaxed through out the day and evening and I believe that is partly because of my personality but mostly down to the experience of the staff. As a venue we were happy with the look and style of the hotel too which gave us lots of photo opportunities both inside and outside. If I had to give the legacy Victoria hotel a rating I would give them 10/10. This really was a happily ever after!!! After looking at several venues we decided on the Legacy Hotel Victoria and boy are we pleased we did. From start to finish the staff were fantastic Sarah Mitchell guided us through what we thought would be a headache , meals, table arrangements etc as we are 250 miles away from Cornwall ! Guest numbers and menu's were changed several times without any issues from the hotel. we had planned on the service being carried out outside however the normal fine September weather was a little unpredictable so the hotel left it until the last minute but finally decided the service would be better indoors ,a little disappointed until we seen the room... simply beautiful ! The whole day was perfect in every way and cannot thank the hotel Victoria and its fantastic staff for making it a day to remember not only for us but virtually every guest commented how wonderful the day and venue was. Sarah advised with everything from arranging the DJ at late notice, to sorting out a favourite starter which wasn't on the menu choices and ensuring any dietary requirements were met. Sarah was there on our day and helped make the day go smoothly, even making sure my surprise cake topper was just that "a Surprise". Sarah also managed to take some fantastic photos capturing moments that no one else did. Our day was perfect, the sun came out and we were able to be married outside in the pergola with the backdrop of Towan Bay. We had canapés and drinks in the garden during the afternoon and were shown into the restaurant were we had our wedding breakfast. The food was excellent and considering we are not local and had not even tried any of the dishes, the meal excelled. The service was great, no one waited for anything and everything went smoothly. The hotel is very organised and well practised at weddings, they led us through the whole process, were open to suggestions and great at offering solutions and choices. Nothing was too great an issue for them. Our guests travelled far and wide and they too thought the whole day was fantastic especially with the sea view making the whole event more special. It was amazing, and far greater than we ever imagined it would be. The events team were fantastic throughout the planning process and when our wedding day came nothing was too much effort. They were always in the background making sure everything was going to plan and were there to sort out any issue that may arise. The day itself was faultless. We were a little worried at first in regards to the weather and so had agreed that it would probably be best to set up the ceremony inside, however when the morning of the wedding arrived and the sun was shining, they got team together last minute to set up outside under their pergola. It was as if they wanted our wedding to be as perfect as what we wanted and nothing was too much trouble. Having the wedding outside was like getting married abroad, our photos which came from this were pure bliss and all our guests complimented how beautiful the day was. The reception went smoothly, the food was delicious and so amazingly presented. The detail which went into our day was extraordinary and the price in no way matched up to the amount of effort that the events team provided. All I can say, from start to finish the service and support we had was 5*. It was the perfect day, and with the weather on our side we were able to get married looking across the ocean from the back of the hotel. Beautiful. The staff were so helpful from start to finish, I couldn't fault anything. We want to say a massive thank you, not just from us, but my family and friends also for making our wedding weekend magical.
