Steeped in history and set amidst spectacular wooded countryside, Launcells Barton is a family-owned exclusive use wedding venue in Launcells, a small parish situated near Bude in North Cornwall. Along with boutique accommodation in our historic country Manor House, we provide the perfect setting for both your wedding ceremony and reception, with the capacity to seat up to 200 guests and onsite accommodation for up to 27.
From the minute you arrive to the moment you leave, you’ll be made to feel like part of the family. Whether it’s enjoying a Friday night Seaview BBQ or indulging in a Bridal Brunch delivered to the Manor House, your wedding experience will be more than just a day- It will be filled with unforgettable moments and memories to last a lifetime!
Your Food & Drink
We’re delighted to work with Fig and Smoke, who create delicious, seasonal menus with locally sourced ingredients. Whether you’re after relaxed sharing boards, an elegant plated meal, or something totally unique, their chefs will bring your foodie ideas to life with ease.
To kick off your wedding celebrations, Fig and Smoke also offer Friday Night Feasts. Gather with loved ones for a Seaview BBQ with stunning farm views, or enjoy a hearty Curry Night or Chilli Feast – perfect for a relaxed evening before the big day! And to make your wedding morning even more special, you can add a Bridal Brunch delivered straight to your manor house door on Saturday – the perfect way to start your big day in style.

What a positive experience we had from start to finish - from the initial emailing to arrange a visit, everyone was so kind, so professional, and very responsive. They were very accommodating with the questions we had, but their Handy Info Guide out most of our queries to rest. They really have thought of everything! The venue is just stunning; it’s so well kept and maintained by the fabulous team there, that come rain or shine, it would have been beautiful. No decor is needed with a place like this! The day itself went so smoothly, special thanks going to the wonderful Chrissie who was there for us every minute of the day with polos and her fan! All of this amounted to us having the best day of our lives. Launcells played the most enormous part in this and no words will be enough to encourage others to book with them. The staff were fantastic, offering sometimes needed guidance and always available to answer any questions in relation to the big day. A day that we are still reminiscing daily and continue to hear amazing memories from friends and family alike. Ellie and Lara helped us plan the perfect wedding, all whilst we were abroad. They answered every question we had and kept us informed of all of the details we needed. We met with Ellie and Lara for the first time, half way through our planning phase, and they talked us through the day in such detail that meant we were all on the same page. The recommended suppliers were amazing, just about all of our suppliers were from this list and they were truly phenomenal. We fell in love with the venue as soon as we saw it - there are so many beautiful areas both outside and inside as well as the stunning manor house which is included for the bridal party to stay in for two nights. The team are super organised and our day ran completely seamlessly, communication was fantastic throughout the planning process and everything is organised in a way that ensures no details - big or small - can be forgotten. One of the things we loved about the venue was that the outdoor and indoor ceremony areas are equally as beautiful as each other. We were lucky with the weather and were able to get married in the stunning walled garden but the indoor mill barn is just as beautiful, which really took the stress out of not knowing what the Cornish weather would do! Having access to the whole venue from the day before until midday the day after was also a huge bonus which we wouldn't have even considered before we started planning. It gave us and our suppliers plenty of time to get things set up as well as doing a practice run for the ceremony itself. We also loved that the venue is a blank canvas and it is ultimately your choice what you do with the day - suppliers are recommended but you are not limited to just one set caterer for example, which we found with a lot of other venues. An added bonus is that the grounds are so beautiful that you don't need to spend too much on decoration - unless of course you want to! The location of Launcells is also great - the venue is very secluded and rural but less than 10 minutes to Bude by car, which gives your guests loads of accommodation options to suit different needs and budgets. A final highlight was our evening tractor ride, which ended up being one of our favourite parts of the day! Not only is the venue absolutely gorgeous, but Lara and Matt, and all of the staff, are so very warm, loving and welcoming. Oh, there are just so many! We’ve had the absolute pleasure of welcoming both local couples and those from all over the world to celebrate with us here in Cornwall. Each wedding is so special in its own way, and every couple brings something unique—leaving us with the most amazing and unforgettable memories!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make sure you take some time together during the day, you will be so busy speaking to family and friends, that sometimes couples don't see much of each other and at the end of the day its about the two of you! Whether you put on your wellies and go for a walk or you hop on the back on our tractor you can see some spectacular views across the Cornish Countryside and even watch the sun setting across the sea!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We had a wedding where the couples seating plan, was based on their favourite beaches from their travels! I love all the personal touches as that's what makes the day so special.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
There are so many places! From the walled garden, to the rolling countryside surrounding the farm, the field that over looks the sea and the elegant Georgian Manor house with beautiful back drops and views!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We’ve had a few, yes! But out of respect for their privacy, we don’t share names—our lips are sealed!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Hmm, there are just so many! The sunset tractor ride is definitely a standout—so many couples say it’s their favourite part of the day because it gives them a quiet moment together, just the two of them. But then again, the Manor House is such a stunning backdrop for getting ready, and the walled garden in full bloom is just magical… actually, I don’t think I can choose!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Definitely the amazing weddings we get to be a part of! It’s such a privilege to know we’ve played a role in someone’s special day—those memories last a lifetime, and it means the world to us to be part of that.
