Polhawn Fort

The best decision we made when planning our wedding was booking Polhawn Fort! The second best decision we made was booking for 4 nights so we were able to enjoy the venue either side of the wedding with our friends and family. Not only are the team incredible, super helpful and genuinely care about ensuring you have the best day, the venue is outstandingly beautiful. From start to finish it felt like we were in a (very good!) dream! I am trying to persuade someone we know to get married there.

Thannk you so much to James, Kyran and Lewis for all of their help throughout the weekend. Everyone had such a good time and complimented how comfy the beds were and how well maintained the building is. We cannot thank the Polhawn team enough for our beautiful day, and the added bonus of the new sauna made our Sunday chill day amazing!

This place is off the scale I didn’t want to leave! I got married here last week and had the best day of my life all thanks to Polhawn Fort and their team (James & Kyran)! The venue is stunning, has its own private beach, huge rooms and is dog friendly. The fort accommodated my whole family from Monday to Friday and had everything we needed. From spectacular views of the Cornish coast line, to comfortable beds and open fire places this place is perfect for every occasion whatever the season.

From the moment that we stepped into the Main Hall of the Fort, we both knew that this was the venue for us. It was enclosed, warm, cosy and full of character. The lighting, the big log fire, Xmas tree and sparkly lights all set the tone for our intimate gathering of 50 of our closest family and friends. In this great setting we blended our wedding, the winter solstice and Christmas as one. We loved that we had the whole weekend to celebrate our special our special event.

When we first saw the fort we fell in love with it. As soon as we walked down the spiral staircase we looked at each other and knew this was our wedding venue. Our wedding day was amazing from start to finish and the fort was a huge part of that. We fell in love with the building and to us the outside was just a bonus. Despite having a power cut in the morning James and the team got everything back up and running for the day to run smoothly. The fort is so magical and can’t recommend it enough.

Me and my wife Natalie had our perfect wedding day thanks to the amazing venue and staff at Polhawn Fort. From the moment we first viewed the fort, we fell in love and it just had that special feeling, which other venues we had viewed did not have. The fort itself is very atmospheric and is just so beautiful and has so much character. It also nestled on the coastline with spectacular views of the ocean and amazing gardens surrounding the fort. Alongside the fort, the staff were incredible from the moment we initially viewed the fort to the wedding day itself. They were friendly, kind, professional and very accommodating. We simply could not have had a more perfect day, thank you Polhawn Fort and to all the staff that made our day so special.

John was so welcoming and his passion of the fort, what he’s done to preserve such a place and make it accessible for others to enjoy just confirmed to us how amazing it is. James was brilliant and I cannot thank you all enough for allowing us to the opportunity to get married and celebrate our love in such a special place. Our friends have said our wedding will go down in history.

The first time we saw the fort, we walked over the draw bridge and loved it. We then both walked down the spiral stair case, looked at each other and knew this was our wedding venue. The Fort is absolutely stunning and we fell in love with the history and the character of the building. Our wedding day was the best day of our life and the fort made it even more magical. Regardless of storm Bert, the team at the fort did everything they could to make our day run smoothly. Thank you so much.

We simply could not be happier with our choice of Polhawn Fort for our autumn wedding. The venue itself is phenomenal; it is the perfect balance between rugged coastal retreat and comfortably, cosy venue that is full of character. We felt strangely at home from the moment we arrived, with our staying guests chatting around the open fire ready to settle down for the next day - being 'in charge' of your own fort for two nights was certainly a surreal experience! We also didn't need to really do any of our own touching up of the decor - it looked beautiful the way it was, with only our choice of lighting colour to illuminate the ceiling drapes, then our table decorations. We could use both the main hall and the covered rooftop area to its full potential, plus the rain even held off, allowing the various outdoor spaces to be explored by our guests, and for us to have some wonderful photos taken. The bedrooms were all unique and full of character, and our guests were so happy to have been invited to stay. The staff were wonderful to deal with an very supportive, from initial viewing, to helping us to source and integrate catering and bar services, to running the wedding itself and then post-event queries. Extra special credit must go to Kyran for his practical, pragmatic, efficient and above all calming presence on the day itself - without him, we would have struggled! We were genuinely sad to leave Polhawn the day after our wedding and would love to visit there in the future - already getting emotional thinking of a nostalgic trip back! We cannot recommend Polhawn Fort enough for your wedding. Here's a tip if you're researching venues: look here first, then don't waste months trying to look at other venues just because you feel you should, as nothing will compare to Polhawn!

Polhawn Fort is an incredibly beautiful venue, offering breathtaking views of the sea. Our stay was absolutely wonderful, and the location made our wedding day even more special and unforgettable. Even though we had rain on our July wedding day, the Fort’s unique charm and character still gave the day a magical atmosphere. From start to finish, the staff were exceptional—always friendly and eager to help with anything we needed. The venue itself was tastefully furnished, and we had everything we could possibly require for a perfect celebration. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, adding to the overall experience. We’ll treasure our wedding day at Polhawn Fort for many years to come.
