Description
THE MAIN HALL -can seat up to 140 people dining or can hold 230 standing. It measures 14m by 14m and has a bright and airy feel even on a cloudy day. This is due to its impressive 4m ceiling height and the eight large roof lights. The hall is also fully air conditioned.
THE L SHAPED BAR seats up to 70 guests or up to approximately 100 guests if you add the study. The bar is almost 20m long by 4m wide with the L measuring 7.5m x 4.5m. The sanded wooden floors and assortment of shabby chic furniture make for a trendy and comfortable ambiance. The hanging wooden rowing boat, pendants and photographs of past glories remind you of the clubs proud history. You can enjoy views of the river along most of the 20m length or you can step out onto the balcony which runs the length of the clubhouse for a closer view.
THE STUDY can cater for 35 guests and is at its best when added to the bar area for weddings up to approximately 100 people or adds real flexibility for people hiring all three spaces. It measures 11.5m by 4m, has a 3.5m high vaulted ceiling and has 2.1m high floor to ceiling windows along its entire length making for stunning views of the river. There are two full height glass doors and a fire escape door making it the easiest thing to step out onto the balcony. This room is also something of a blank canvas and is air conditioned.

It was perfect for our party of 80 friends and family with great catering available, a charming bar and club house and wonderful balconies with views over the river. I particularly wanted to thank you for the bar staffs fabulous work on the night, you looked after us brilliantly and whilst a lot of people commented on how great the venue was and looked, quite a few friends said how fantastic the staff were - and you looked after us a treat, handed over bubbles at all the right moments and were a joy. Thanks again, the whole thing couldn't have been better - and your venue was a huge part of that. It really was perfect for our event and day. We had our wedding here last September - a sit-down barbecue meal for 120 people (we hired long trestle tables) with an extra 40 guests arriving in the evening. The hall is a fantastic and versatile space with a wooden floor and clean white walls - bright and airy during the day, with dimmable lights for evening. We added loads of bright paper lanterns and fairy lights to make the space really special. The bar area too has a great feel to it - recently refurbished with high quality details and mid-century furniture. We had a 5 piece band and dance-floor in the main hall followed by a more intimate DJ set in the bar area - the flexibility of the rooms worked really well. We had a hybrid Hindu/Christian wedding where we needed to cater for different diets, a hybrid ceremony and our own vision on decor. We felt very lucky when we found this venue as it is tricky to find a bright and airy hall with AC that can also shift gears for the evening when you want to dim the lighting and adjourn to the cosy bar attached. The balcony with a view of the narrow boats was a lovely bonus. So many of our guests said it was such a great day and I'm sure the venue was a big part of that.
