At Keele Hall, we have experience of crafting unique memories, one wedding at a time.
The Venue
In a beautiful and dramatic setting such as Keele Hall, your wedding will be a truly memorable occasion. The Grade II listed historic mansion, one of Staffordshire’s finest stately homes, was previously owned by the Sneyd family. The manor of Keele was held by the family continuously from 1544 to 1948. Keele Hall was built between 1851 and 1861, with Victorian architect Anthony Salvin, who also worked on the renovations at Windsor Castle, Alnwick Castle and the Houses of Parliament, designing an imposing building in mock Jacobean style. It is built of local red sandstone with contrasting Hollington stone dressings.
Today, Keele Hall still stands in hundreds of acres of lush parkland and immaculate gardens. With elegant chandeliers, a dramatic wooden staircase, ornate fireplaces and beautiful oak-panelling, many of the rooms retain their original features, making the setting quite unique.
The Ceremony
At Keele Hall we have a choice of settings to deliver the ceremony of your dreams. Comfortably seating up to 90 guests, The Great Hall, with its vast amount of natural light, space and double-height ceiling, is our most popular space for the ceremony to take place. If your hearts are set on an outdoor wedding, you can make the most of our grounds by taking your vows in our Italian Gardens, with views out over our lakes and stunning Staffordshire countryside. We are licensed to hold civil marriages and civil partnerships within Keele Hall and its grounds, but you are required to book your registrar or celebrant. If you’re thinking of a church ceremony, the Keele Chapel is just stones throw away from Keele Hall.
The Grounds
Our Italian Gardens, sweeping lawns, stunning lakes and secluded areas create the perfect backdrop for your wedding. The grounds at Keele Hall are majestic all year round. Whether it’s the lush greenery of spring, the warmth of British summer, the changing colours of autumn, or snow-covered grounds in winter, whatever the season, plan some time in your day to escape with your photographer to explore.
Why not venture outside for part of your day, too? Enjoy our vast outdoor areas for summer drinks receptions and make use of our bespoke and unique converted Trailer Bar. Or, even your ceremony could take place in our picturesque and ornamental parterre Italian Gardens.
The Wedding Breakfast
Your wedding breakfast is the first meal you’ll share as a married couple, joined by all of your favourite people. So, rest assured that our award-winning teams will deliver to perfection. The Evening
Great weddings end with great parties. It’s time to dance the night away with your family and friends. The Great Hall has space for up to 150 evening guests and the layout can be quickly and easily transformed by our team if you’ve also held your ceremony there. It’s the perfect space to entertain your guests with live music or a DJ to bring everyone to the dance floor. You’ll also have close access to the Bar from the Great Hall, as well as the Salvin Room for those guests wanting to relax and catch-up with friends and family. We have a great selection of evening food for you to choose from, so rest assured that we’ll keep the food and drink flowing as the party goes into the night.
