Henlade House is grand yet relaxed — elegant, refined, and never pretentious. As an exclusive-use venue near Taunton, the house becomes yours to enjoy from 11.30am on the morning of your wedding, allowing you and your guests to settle in, celebrate, and feel completely at home within its stylish surroundings.
Drinks and canapés can be enjoyed on the terrace and in the gardens, taking in the views and the changing seasons, or within the atmospheric bar, rich with characterful 17th-century features including a glass-topped well and historic wood-fired bread oven. Thoughtfully crafted menus and beautifully presented dishes are central to every celebration at Henlade House, with a focus on high-quality ingredients and generous, memorable dining.
Your wedding breakfast is hosted in the elegant Dining Room, seating between 50 and 100 guests. Flooded with natural light from large sash windows overlooking the gardens, the space feels bright, warm, and inviting. As evening falls, it transforms effortlessly to host up to 200 guests for the continuation of the celebrations.
The octagonal entrance hall offers a beautiful first impression, leading into interiors that balance classic architecture with a soft, welcoming warmth. Every space within the house has been designed to feel considered yet comfortable, providing an elegant setting for both quiet moments and unforgettable celebrations.
Upstairs, the light-filled Drawing Room provides a luxurious space for preparations, complete with hair and make-up stations, large mirrors, and a private en-suite bathroom. Fifteen beautifully appointed bedroom suites allow close family and friends to stay overnight, before gathering the following morning for a relaxed and delicious breakfast — the perfect conclusion to an unforgettable occasion.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
It’s impossible to pick just one! The entrance hall with its cantilever staircase and chandelier is always a showstopper... The Music Room floods with natural light through its floor to ceiling windows, and of course, our gardens which are endlessly romantic whatever the season. Honestly, every corner of Henlade House has its own magic — you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to capturing your special day!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make sure that your photographer comes recommended (your venue will always be able to help with this), and if budget allows, hire a videographer too. These will be the two things that will mean that you will be able to look back and relive your wedding day over and over.
And, trust your suppliers. They are the experts and will be the ones that will make your wedding run like a dream.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Personally, I love the Warm duck breast with hoisin, ginger and chives on a crispy wonton, which is just so delicious! However, the Mozzarella with tomato salsa on a black pepper crisp is a close second for me, it's packed with flavour and goes down great with vegetarian guests too!
