Gilmerton House is an exclusive-use estate that blends history and tradition with a touch of modernity and a sustainable ethos. Located on Edinburgh’s doorstep and within reach of North Berwick’s stunning beaches and ancient castles, Gilmerton House is perfectly positioned to hold the wedding celebration you have always imagined. Gilmerton House recognises that no two celebrations are ever the same and want to give each couple the freedom to curate a unique wedding according to their tastes; as such, they do not offer fixed wedding packages and only take on a limited number of weddings a year to ensure the best experience for their couples and to maintain the splendour of the house. Wedding ceremonies for up to 100 guests can be held in the historic and atmospheric wood panelled Music Room, which, dating back to the 1600s is one of the finest rooms of its age in Scotland. Larger weddings for up to 200 guests can be accommodated in the gardens or a marquee in the stunning gardens. The house has twelve luxurious double bedrooms decorated to a high standard in a classical Georgian style with a modern and sustainable focus. Overnight guests can also opt to enjoy the additional services of a house butler and private chef.

Pricing is for a three night stay at Gilmerton House (April to October) and includes accommodation for up to 26 guests in the House and Lodge as well as the exclusive us of our gardens and The Laundry House, which is our blank canvas events hall, which can host wedding receptions for up to 100 guests. For larger weddings over 100, guests would be required to erect a marquee in the gardens of the estate.

Gilmerton House is an absolutely beautiful venue. The house is stunning, each bedroom carefully curated for a luxurious stay. It feels like a family home rather than a hotel, giving guests the ability to use all the shared areas as their own. It's definitely a step above a classic Scottish country home. The Laundry House space is perfect for a celebration - it gave us everything we needed. Thank you to everyone at Gilmerton House for a an incredible weekend. We recently held my daughter's wedding at Gilmerton House for three nights. As beautiful and grand as Gilmerton appears online, it does not compare to the exceptional experience of staying there. Each room has its own personality and charm and the house is expertly managed by a team who are beyond accommodating. Gilmerton was a magical and memorable setting for a wonderful event, thank you so much for everything. We recently held my daughter's wedding at Gilmerton House for three nights. As beautiful and grand as Gilmerton appears online, it does not compare to the exceptional experience of staying there. Well what can I say other than absolutely fantastic experience at Gilmerton . We had the house for long weekend whilst daughter was getting married. Graham and staff at Gilmerton were first class and couldn’t speak highly enough of them and how welcome they made everybody feel. The house and grounds themselves are so special and you really feel so relaxed and comfortable there. The house itself is the perfect venue for a wedding, the rooms are in perfect condition and the grounds are stunning. It is hard to pick one favourite moment from the weekend but having our ceremony in the woods at the back of the house with the birds singing and a beautiful, romantic setting all around might be it! We truly felt at home all weekend and made use of every corner of the property! The new kitchen was a highlight and the groomsmen made good use of the Golf tee and billiards room!The house itself is the perfect venue for a wedding, the rooms are in perfect condition and the grounds are stunning. It is hard to pick one favourite moment from the weekend but having our ceremony in the woods at the back of the house with the birds singing and a beautiful, romantic setting all around might be it!
