Why squeeze the best celebration of your life into just 24 hours? At Garthmyl Hall, we’re all about extending the fun! Think welcome cocktails or a BBQ on the day before, setting the scene with old friends and new faces. Next is the main event: your “I do” moment, framed by the grandeur of the Hall or the picturesque elegance of our Walled Garden. And just when they think it’s all wrapped up, surprise them with a post-wedding brunch – a chilled final catch-up to laugh and reminisce over the weekend’s escapades (or why not extend the festivities into a full-blown day!).
Our beautiful Hall has several places you can host your ceremony, including the Walled Garden, surrounded by seasonal blooms and natural beauty, or inside our Ballroom, where sophistication and charm are part of the architecture. Or, for something different, the Summer House awaits, blending botanical vibes with a hint of rustic elegance.
On-site we boast a number of different accommodation types sleeping up to 50 guests, choose between 10 luxurious en-suite bedrooms in the Hall, lovingly and sympathetically restored self-catering cottages in The Stables and a private romantic retreat for two: The Boathouse. The Hall bedrooms are included in the hire cost which can be recharged out to guests, meaning you can claim back some of the cost.

The reason for variation in costs is due to time of year (May - September being peak season) and days of the week (mid-week comes at the lower end of the price).

It felt different to every other wedding venue we visited. There’s no aspect of the typical wedding factory you come across now and it’s all tailored towards your weekend. The grounds are what drew us in, it’s the most stunning wedding venue we’ve seen in the UK and all of our guests thought the same. Every aspect is so beautifully maintained and added something to our weekend. Starting off in the walled garden for our ceremony and ending in the cellar bar made it unique and a talking point amongst our guests. Having more than one day was perfect so we could mingle with all the guests but still enjoy our own day. The accommodation was unreal, we had over 50 guests stay onsite. The boat house is a special getaway at the end of a busy weekend to celebrate married life. The little touches of flowers in the rooms and Molton Brown toiletries just topped it off. It felt as though it was our house all weekend and this made everything feel so much more relaxed. Julia was literally more than we could have wished for and was on hand whenever we needed her. She never complained about the endless calls and voice notes about minute details and local wildlife. Her styling for the reception was gorgeous and nothing was too much to ask of her. She helped us set up for the weekend and made it look 100 times better than we could have imagined. She’s an amazing woman and we’re lucky to have found someone as amazing as her to help plan our wedding! We managed to meet the majority of our suppliers through Garthmyl open days, all of whom were unreal and tied in really well with the venue. They were all excited to be part of a wedding at Garthmyl, which speaks volumes in itself. We debated getting married abroad but we couldn’t be happier with our decision to marry at Garthmyl, its a weekend neither us or our guests will forget and we’ll be back every year to celebrate! The whole weekend was a breeze and that was because of the easy going nature at Garthmyl, nothing is too much. It makes so much sense to make a weekend out of your wedding rather than just the one day and Garthmyl are so welcoming of the ideas and visions you have to tailor it to you and your partner. I couldn’t recommend enough getting married here and I’m jealous we can’t do it again! Many thanks to all of the Garthmyl team including Julia, Darren and everyone else present throughout the weekend. Not only was the venue the most stunning place we have ever seen, it had so many cool and quirky rooms which everybody loved. Julia and the team were so lovely going above and beyond to make our special day just perfect! A big shout out to Mary and Alex working on the several bars till early in the morning and keeping the fire pits running. Sorry I didn't manage to catch the names of the staff working in the mornings but they were just as amazing too, working super hard but making it look easy. We first met Julia in 2020, and were welcomed with tea & coffee in front of a roaring fire to discuss what we wanted from our wedding weekend. Instantly we were blown away by Julia's friendly and relaxed approach, and her attention to detail didn't lapse at any point. We booked the hall immediately! Even on a chilly wet October day, the venue and grounds were simply stunning. Each room is decorated beautifully, the walled garden really takes your breath away, and the additional accommodation of the Stables is so convenient! We got married here in June 2022, and I would like to thank Julia for all her help on the build up to our special weekend. She was only ever a text away and always readily available with a solution. Luckily, we hired Garthmyl Hall from Friday to Monday and having the extra night was so worth it - it really felt like home from home and gave us a chance to properly relax with our friends & family. The wedding day was over in a flash, so enjoying a brunch and BBQ on the Sunday was perfect. Julia was faultless throughout the weekend and nothing was too much trouble including helping alter a bridesmaid dress an hour before the wedding (yes, really!!) and helping get marks out of my dress. She was very professional and attentive without being over the top, and she really made us feel relaxed! By the end of the weekend we felt like we'd gained a friend. A huge shout out to Garthmyl's staff too - from being welcomed with fizz upon arrival, to cocktail making all evening, and serving us the most beautiful food & drink, they couldn't do enough to help us. They worked tirelessly all weekend but never let the late night show - they were always friendly, smiley and accommodating. They really help make Garthmyl Hall the special venue it is. After growing up near to Garthmyl Hall, we looked around a number of other wedding venues in the area. Needless to say, Garthmyl Hall was the standout winner and we are so glad we made the decision to celebrate our special day at this incredible venue, which has been so lovingly renovated and transformed by Julia. Having the whole venue from Friday afternoon right through to Sunday afternoon, does give you a real "wedding weekend." This truly does set it apart from other venues and it really was a home away from home for the whole weekend, with so many of our guests saying that they felt like they were on a big family holiday for the weekend. On the Friday evening, we had a lovely family BBQ in the grounds of the Hall with the lovely weather enabling us to sit outside and enjoy the gardens until 11pm. The wedding day itself could not have gone any better. Julia and her team were on hand throughout the day to ensure that everything was seamless. The whole team worked tirelessly in the background to ensure everything was just perfect. Breakfast on the Sunday morning was also lovely, with the same hardworking staff serving us with a smile at 9am despite having only gone to bed only a few hours earlier!! Nobody should hesitate to celebrate their special day at Garthmyl, you really won't regret it. A special mention must also go to the extremely professional way they dealt with the pandemic. Every room has been decorated and furnished to the highest standard and in keeping with the grandeur it deserves. Julia knows her stuff!! From having a quick wedding rehearsal on the Friday night to providing a full English on the Sunday morning. Nothing was too much trouble for her throughout the whole weekend. We were able to arrive on the Friday afternoon, allowing us to get together with family in the evening for a pre wedding meal in the dining room and sort all those little things before the big day. The wedding day itself was just ‘PERFECT’, with Julia working her magic behind the scenes keeping everything going to plan!! - CCaitlin & Michael30/09/2022Everything we could have wished for and moreEverything we could have wished for and moreIt's hard to put into words just how incredible Julia and her team were throughout all of the planning and entire weekend of our wedding in May this year. This review won't do it justice but we'll try! From the minute we went to visit Garthmyl Hall we knew it was the right venue for us. We knew we wanted a venue where loads of our friends and family could stay for the weekend, everyone would feel at home and we had flexibility to choose the suppliers we wanted. Garthmyl Hall offers all of this with their stunning accommodation - all of the rooms in the main hall are gorgeous with en suite bathrooms and individually decorated, and the stables accommodation is just beautiful. All of the downstairs rooms in the hall are designed gorgeously and the grounds are incredible. Julia was always on hand in the planning of the wedding, helping to avert any crisis, answering any random questions and can recommend so many amazing suppliers or you can choose your own - for local suppliers we used Tipples for table and crockery hire, Pheasant Botanica for flowers, ESL for lighting and speakers, Pedal and Push for pizzas, Helena Restall makeup and Tallulah's for catering - and we would recommend all of them a million times over, as well as all the suppliers that travelled slightly further afield for us! We had a pizza night on the Friday (provided by Pedal and Push - also thoroughly recommend!!) with big firepits and the summerhouse bar open for drinks for everyone staying in the hall and stables. Such an amazing night to get excited with everyone and catch up with people the night before the big day. On the morning of the wedding I got ready with the bridesmaids and my mum and mother in law in the bridal suite and there was more than enough room for 7 of us plus videographer, photographer, 2 hair stylists and a makeup artist. I felt so calm getting ready on the morning of the wedding, knowing Julia and her amazing team were coordinating everything behind the scenes and I didn't have to worry about a thing - we also had a stylist (One Splendid Day) who did all of the styling of the ballroom and marquee etc - very much recommend doing this/seeing if your florist will provide this service for tables. It is worth every penny of the extra cost for you to be able to relax and enjoy. the weekend with your friends and family and not having to worry about setting up anything! The rest of our family had a breakfast in the dining room provided by Garthmyl Hall and the staff brought us up bacon sandwiches and orange juice/coffees while we were getting ready. Before my husband/groomsmen/dads etc left for the church they met in the bar and had a pint and put on their buttonholes. We got married at the church in Berriew which is a 5 minutes drive from the hall and is a beautiful church with a gorgeous church yard. We had our reception drinks in the walled garden/on the back lawn, followed by our meal in the marquee - we were so lucky with the weather and had all of the sides open which was just gorgeous. After the meal Julia and her team turned the marquee around for the evening while our guests went outside for cocktails around the firepits. We used the ballroom as a lounge area with the Garthmyl Hall sofas and Geoff the Giraffe (had to be done), a photobooth corner and a cheese table. We had the band and DJ set up in the marquee with the dance floor laid out by the hall which worked perfectly. The staff were amazing all day of the wedding moving flowers around to make sure they were still used beautifully, making sure there was enough wine on the tables, toast glasses topped up and if there was any crisis I can't say we heard about it or if we did there was already a solution so we didn't need to worry. Holly even gave two of my friends a lift back to their hotel at 3 in the morning when they had no idea of the time all night and totally missed their taxi lol. (Legend - we love you Holly.) On Sunday morning the hall set up the marquee again for a buffet brunch, again making use of the flowers from the weekend which were gorgeous. We then had a chilled day and BBQ in the evening with friends and family - some who weren't staying with us still came back for it too. The food was INCREDIBLE - best bbq we'd ever eaten and SO MANY TYPES OF CHICKEN KEBAB. Andy is the BBQ king. It started to rain so we moved into the marquee, then optimistically moved outside to the firepits again for a singsong, to then be forced into the summerhouse due to downpours. We stayed in the summerhouse until midnight singing and dancing then moved to the ballroom where we had another party until 3am - the hall is so big that no one who went to bed earlier even realised we were up so late! The staff were amazing the whole time, running the bar, putting out our leftover cheeseboard from the wedding then helping us move it all in to the ballroom and leaving us to it when it was time for them to go home. If you want the kind of wedding where you can make it truly your own, feeling like you've just got all of your friends and family together at a big house for an EPIC weekend with the most attentive, fun and chilled out staff, then Garthmyl Hall is the place for you. Even if everyone has to travel and stay in the area like our friends and family did for it, they will all say it was worth it. Julia, and all of the staff at Garthmyl hall we cannot thank you enough. Julia was always on hand in the planning of the wedding, helping to avert any crisis, answering any random questions and can recommend so many amazing suppliers or you can choose your own - for local suppliers we used Tipples for table and crockery hire, Pheasant Botanica for flowers, ESL for lighting and speakers, Pedal and Push for pizzas, Helena Restall makeup and Tallulah's for catering - and we would recommend all of them a million times over, as well as all the suppliers that travelled slightly further afield for us! We had a pizza night on the Friday (provided by Pedal and Push - also thoroughly recommend!!) with big firepits and the summerhouse bar open for drinks for everyone staying in the hall and stables. Such an amazing night to get excited with everyone and catch up with people the night before the big day. On the morning of the wedding I got ready with the bridesmaids and my mum and mother in law in the bridal suite and there was more than enough room for 7 of us plus videographer, photographer, 2 hair stylists and a makeup artist. I felt so calm getting ready on the morning of the wedding, knowing Julia and her amazing team were coordinating everything behind the scenes and I didn't have to worry about a thing - we also had a stylist (One Splendid Day) who did all of the styling of the ballroom and marquee etc - very much recommend doing this/seeing if your florist will provide this service for tables. It is worth every penny of the extra cost for you to be able to relax and enjoy. the weekend with your friends and family and not having to worry about setting up anything! The rest of our family had a breakfast in the dining room provided by Garthmyl Hall and the staff brought us up bacon sandwiches and orange juice/coffees while we were getting ready. Before my husband/groomsmen/dads etc left for the church they met in the bar and had a pint and put on their buttonholes. We got married at the church in Berriew which is a 5 minutes drive from the hall and is a beautiful church with a gorgeous church yard. We had our reception drinks in the walled garden/on the back lawn, followed by our meal in the marquee - we were so lucky with the weather and had all of the sides open which was just gorgeous. After the meal Julia and her team turned the marquee around for the evening while our guests went outside for cocktails around the firepits. We used the ballroom as a lounge area with the Garthmyl Hall sofas and Geoff the Giraffe (had to be done), a photobooth corner and a cheese table. We had the band and DJ set up in the marquee with the dance floor laid out by the hall which worked perfectly. The staff were amazing all day of the wedding moving flowers around to make sure they were still used beautifully, making sure there was enough wine on the tables, toast glasses topped up and if there was any crisis I can't say we heard about it or if we did there was already a solution so we didn't need to worry. Holly even gave two of my friends a lift back to their hotel at 3 in the morning when they had no idea of the time all night and totally missed their taxi lol. (Legend - we love you Holly.) On Sunday morning the hall set up the marquee again for a buffet brunch, again making use of the flowers from the weekend which were gorgeous. We then had a chilled day and BBQ in the evening with friends and family - some who weren't staying with us still came back for it too. The food was INCREDIBLE - best bbq we'd ever eaten and SO MANY TYPES OF CHICKEN KEBAB. Andy is the BBQ king. It started to rain so we moved into the marquee, then optimistically moved outside to the firepits again for a singsong, to then be forced into the summerhouse due to downpours. We stayed in the summerhouse until midnight singing and dancing then moved to the ballroom where we had another party until 3am - the hall is so big that no one who went to bed earlier even realised we were up so late! The staff were amazing the whole time, running the bar, putting out our leftover cheeseboard from the wedding then helping us move it all in to the ballroom and leaving us to it when it was time for them to go home. If you want the kind of wedding where you can make it truly your own, feeling like you've just got all of your friends and family together at a big house for an EPIC weekend with the most attentive, fun and chilled out staff, then Garthmyl Hall is the place for you. Even if everyone has to travel and stay in the area like our friends and family did for it, they will all say it was worth it. Julia, and all of the staff at Garthmyl hall we cannot thank you enough. We wish we could do our wedding all over again and would pick you all to run it for us all over again.
