Description

Wilde Lodge is for couples who want a wedding that feels like real time with their favourite people, not a rushed, one‑day package. Think of it as a laid-back country home set in 15 acres of riverside meadows, barns, tents and gardens that you can truly make your own, with space for 16–20 guests staying inside the main lodge. Bell tent villages can be set up so more of your guests can stay on site and turn your wedding into a full weekend together. There are no set formulas here – just beautiful, flexible spaces you can use however feels most like you, whether that’s river swims and lawn games, long shared meals, or fires under the stars. You shape the celebration exactly as you imagine it, so your wedding feels relaxed, personal and a real reflection of who you are as a couple.

The main safari tent seats up to 120 guests for a sit‑down meal, and for larger weddings we offer a reduction on the hire fee so you can bring in a bigger structure that suits your plans. There really are no limits. Outside, there are countless ceremony spots to choose from, and our bespoke sail tent can be moved to any of them to keep everyone comfortable whatever the weather. Indoors, you can say your vows in the open barn (up to 120 seated) or the long barn (up to 90 seated), depending on the feel you’re after.

We’re always listening and adapting to what you want, and over time we’ve built a brilliant list of suppliers for you to pick from, depending on your taste and budget. You stay in control of everything – suppliers, timings, where each part of the day happens – and you have the whole weekend to settle in, spread out and play.

Welcome, my name is Jemma and I set up Wilde Lodge over 9 years ago. Since then we have stuck true to our vision, to create a wonderful country home, relaxed and flexible, whilst offering 5* service for couples looking for somewhere to call their own. To be able to step out of the wedding noise and instead have a weekend bursting with friends and family. Where time stands still and they aren't rushed or pushed into any formula. Just a gorgeous space to host your own wedding as you want it.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Although we love all our weddings, one of the best was with a lovely couple who started with an intimate dinner on the day they arrived, got up and went for a walk and a swim with their loved ones, truly making the most of the countryside. The morning after their big party and plenty of dancing, the guests woke up, had a game of croquet in their pyjamas and dinned on a big BBQ lunch! Seeing the bride, groom and their guests being able to relax and make the most of the venue is what we love most.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Try not to overwhelm yourself. There's a lot of social pressure around weddings, but focus on what truly matters to you and your partner. Also it’s a cliche but just enjoy it! From finding the right venue, to picking out suppliers, take everything one step at a time & fully embrace the process.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

One of our most recent couples had a love for literature and had a book swap set up in our long barn where guests were encouraged to bring a personal favourite read to swap and share with other guests. It was lovely to see guests get involved in the gesture and take a moment to share the interests of the Bride and Groom.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Unique, Magical, Relaxed, Wholesome, Intimate

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

There are so many glorious spots, but we have seen some amazing photos taken down by the river at golden hour with the beautiful welsh hills as the backdrop. But we are also very lucky to have our rustic barns which make a great feature in our photos too!

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Not just yet, but our doors are open!

What’s your favourite canapé?

It's hard to choose we have so many amazing caterers on our exclusive suppliers list! Enquire to view our wedding & catering guide for our mouthwatering options.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

It would have to be toasted marshmallows on our fire pits outside the barns. It is a perfect midnight snack to keep you toasty next to the fires to give your feet a break from dancing all night long!

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Our most unique feature would have to be the beautiful grounds that we are set on. On 15 acres of land which is all available for you to use throughout your whole stay for games, family walks, photos and everything in-between, this would have to be our most unique feature. They also allow us to hold bell tents for up to 100 guests to stay on site, lit up beautifully with fairy lights.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

The way my husband and I have built this business from the ground up! When we first took over the Lodge it required a total renovation that we did ourselves, which we have constantly been building upon since then. To be able to watch couples and guests arrive and enjoy the site that we have given our time and hearts to is the best part about what we do!
