Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway Station

Our wedding at Embsay and Bolton Abbey Station was more than we could've imagined. From start to finish, Samantha and the team were on hand to make everything run as smoothly as possible. We were allowed to build the day as we wanted it to look, and could select the carriages we wanted to use. Beatrice was a fantastic engine, driven by an ever greater team, who ensured that both our day and evening guests could enjoy a wonderful trip down the railway (and back!).

We had an amazing day and everyone was so super friendly and helpful we couldn’t have asked for more. I’ve had people saying it was the best wedding they have been to and you all should take credit for that.

Samantha and her team were incredibly helpful, taking all the stress out of the planning for us. Arriving aboard the beautiful Beatrice, polished and decorated specially, was magical. We were lucky enough to meet her owner, who drove her that day. For a stress-free wedding that you and your loved ones will remember forever, we highly recommend the Railway. The staff’s attention to detail and dedication to making your day special will exceed your expectations.

The wedding was the best day of my life! The team the the railway made the planning stage so easy and nothing was too much trouble for them... all of my needs were catered for and I couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue. What an incredible setting for a wedding! Took place in ticket office, followed by journey on steam train!! Staff couldn’t do enough! If I ever get married again, I’m doing it here!!!

A very big thank you again to all the team at the railway for making the day so special, everyone said it was the best wedding they had been too, so many lovely memories. You are all a brilliant team and you Ryan were so helpful, especially when my daughter's boyfriend was slightly ill! And I know all the party revellers really appreciated late night kebabs.

We held our marriage ceremony and wedding breakfast at the railway ~ ceremony in the booking office and the reception on the steam train, Beatrice, as we travelled up and down the line. My bridesmaid and I arrived in style via the steam train from Embsay to meet the guests at Bolton Abbey. The train crew were wonderful, there wasn’t a thing they weren’t prepared to do for us to make our day special. Stephen Walker, the station manager, was fantastic both in helping us arrange our day but also ensuring everything went as planned. Sue from Heavenly Teas provided a superb high tea for us all and there was an abundance of beautifully freshly prepared food. Not once were we rushed and we were made to feel so very welcome and special. Words can not describe how amazing and unique our day was, we are just sorry it is over but we have the most amazing memories. We loved every second of our day on the wedding train ~ beautiful food, wonderful people, stunning scenery, spotlessly clean railway station and fantastic steam train. Thank you so very very much.
