“It’s only forever”…for this very reason it was important for us to find a venue which reflected us and what we are about. Dunwood Hall surpassed all expectations.
Our wedding ceremony and celebrations were absolutely perfect. So many guests commented that it was the best wedding they’d ever been to; it all felt so relaxed, intimate and filled with love. Everything we dreamed of was accommodated - to the finest of personalised details.
This is not a run-of-the-mill venue; it is a beautiful, neo-gothic family home which gives guests a luxurious and unique experience for a few lucky couples each year. The house and grounds are stunning- quirky, unique and intimate with acres of fields, and numerous garden areas to explore, alongside a fresh water swimming pool.
Multiple indoor areas allowed our friends and family to mingle, dance or chill as they wished. Moving between the sunny orangery, outdoor terrace lounge, dining room, opulent hallway bar with grand piano, music room and the cosy snug with open fire.
Erika and Brodie are wonderful hosts, We were encouraged to do things our way rather than worrying about what others expected or what tradition dictates. This ultimately resulted in a wedding which was so meaningful to us, surrounded by the people we wanted to celebrate with. Trust in Erika and Brodie’s experience and advice. They know what works and what doesn’t.
Our experience was fully bespoke with ongoing support throughout a year of meticulous planning as well as during our wonderful weekend of love and fun. Erika and Brodie’s attention to detail, friendly comms and wicked sense of humour meant that they became an integral part of our weekend; chatting and celebrating alongside us all, whilst somehow also ensuring the smooth running of events at the same time. That is no mean feat; they are incredible!
As a dog-friendly venue it was a joy to have our cavachon as ring-bearer and our friend’s little yorkies as pooch-maids, complete with flower garland collars. Resident doggos, Chisel and Lourdie, were perfect hosts too and even guided some guests to the orangery for the ceremony as they arrived!
We recommend booking the venue and on-site accommodation for the entire weekend (Friday to Sunday) as we did. This allowed us time to give 10 of our guests a weekend away whilst also settling in and getting organised well in advance so the wedding day itself was completely stress free.
The newly refurbished on-site accommodation is gorgeous! Especially the Bridal suite, with far reaching views of the local hills, an en-suite featuring a roll top bath, and the most beautiful toilet we’ve ever seen! 🤣
As an LGBTQ couple, it was also important for us to choose an inclusive venue where we would be understood and welcomed with open arms. We felt 100% comfortable to be ourselves; allowing us to fully enjoy an amazing and magical experience.
