Dulwich Picture Gallery is London’s best kept secret. Founded in 1811, this hidden gem is the first purpose built public art gallery in the world and has been celebrating art for over 200 years. The building is an architectural masterpiece offering an intimate and unforgettable experience for weddings.
We have multiple spaces for all of your different needs to please contact us for more details on smaller more intimate weddings as well as your big beautiful ones!
We can offer bespoke pricing for those smaller weddings of 30 or less.
The gallery rooms provide a grand and very opulent backdrop whilst the Linbury Room and cafe space have much more of a modern vibe for those wanting something they can add their sparkle to.
Or why not hire out our Meadow for a private daytime wedding?
All money generated through venue hire goes towards the conservation and care of the Gallery and supports the development of the on-going education and exhibition programmes.

The Soane Gallery allows you to say ‘I do’ in the presence of Rembrandt, Canaletto and Rubens paintings, during an evening ceremony, once the gallery has closed its doors to the public. Followed by your wedding breakfast on a long table running down the centre of the gallery.
Alternatively, the Linbury Room offers a contemporary events space that can be decorated to suit your requirements for a daytime ceremony. Followed by drinks in the gardens and perhaps your wedding breakfast in our gallery cafe that floor to ceiling glass windows open straight onto the gardens.
Due to the delicate nature of the rooms there are approved suppliers we ask you to choose from but we have a eclectic list to allow to you to plan your dream wedding.
As well as this you can choose from any of our spaces for the different parts of your day to make it truly bespoke to you and your partner.

We had a civil partnership ceremony in the Linbury Room followed by some Prosecco in the cloisters and on the lawn despite it being November. It was beautiful and even though we weren’t in the gallery itself it still felt like a special setting. Imogen and the team were brilliant. They are very attentive, warm and professional. Imogen at the Gallery was so kind, helpful and quick to respond to any queries we had in the run up, and was always on hand to offer advice or assistance which really helped keep our pre-wedding stress levels in check, she really is brilliant! We got married in the Linbury Room and had the wedding breakfast in the cafe, and both rooms felt light, modern and were able to be decorated just as we wanted them. The venue itself is beautiful, and we were so lucky that the sun came out on the day so that we could make the most of the lovely grounds for an outside drinks reception. Many of our guests commented on what a beautiful and unusual venue it was, and being a Gallery (with outside space!) in London felt very special. My favourite part was having the gardens exclusively to ourselves for the whole night, it felt so special and our guests loved it. Highly recommend it!! We had a bar service at the back of the room for guests to mingle while waiting for the service to begin. Having an air conditioning in the room made it comfortable in the hot weather. We hired the Linbury room which was perfect for our 28 guests. It comes as a complete blank canvas so you need to add decor but these means you can make it your own. We had the reception on the lawn on a beautiful sunny autumnal day which was gorgeous. Then, to add the wow factor we invited our guests in to look around the gallery (arranged by DPG) which they all loved. We had a couple set up a mini fairground in our meadow with a ferris wheel, coconut shy, photobooth and lots more for them and their guests to enjoy

Enjoy yourself! It is your day and anything goes, be it a bouncy castle in our meadow or a tour of the exhibition, we encourage you to think outside of the box.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
I just love a ceremony with a twist, a song by a groomsmen before they did the rings in the ceremony was once of my favourite so far
