Downham Hall is a beautiful venue in Downham, Essex. We are an ideal venue for people who want a boutique, countryside style wedding.
The property has been on the site since the 16th Century with the current manifestation believed to have evolved over the last 300 years.
We have spent almost three years lovingly renovating the property to the highest of standards and have incorporated 5 luxury en suite bedrooms, 3 function spaces, a luxurious wedding marquee and stunning grounds available for wedding celebrations, all surrounded by beautiful countryside views.
Downham Hall is an exclusive use wedding venue and the perfect setting for a small, intimate wedding in our beautiful De Beauvoir suite or Orangery or, for a larger wedding, held within our stunning marquee in the grounds. We would be delighted to offer our venue as the perfect setting for your special day.
Although we are now taking bookings well into 2024, we do still have a handful of dates available for 2022 and 2023.
All of the events held at Downham Hall are always very well received and we are lucky to have lots of wonderful reviews from past clients who have become dear friends and continue to visit us for other events or to dine in our wonderful restaurant. Many guests comment on the fact that the sheer beauty and peacefulness of the venue and it’s surroundings make you feel as though you are miles from anywhere but really you are only 2 miles from a mainline station into London Liverpool Street!
Downham Hall is an ideal venue for both locals and those travelling from further afield to find the perfect setting for their wedding celebrations.

Downham Hall is available for couples who wish to create a truly bespoke day. Included in the venue hire you will receive the services of a dedicated wedding coordinator, use of the bridal dressing room for your entire day, exclusive use of the venue until midnight on the day of your wedding, an award winning DJ package, an overnight stay in our luxurious Bridal Suite, on site parking for up to 45 cars, use of our sound system for background music and speeches, complimentary garden games, all tables and chairs, use of our cake stand and knife, premium lighting package in the marquee and fully licensed bars run by our experienced events team.

Such a gorgeous venue with views wherever you look, and really incredibly helpful staff who I could tell completely understood that it was the most important day of our lives and did everything they could to add to that.
