Within the historic setting of Blake Hall and its stunning private gardens, we are proud to offer you the beautifully restored 17th century barns and surrounding areas for your exclusive use for weddings, wedding receptions and other special occasion
Space to Celebrate
We’re fully licensed for ceremonies, so you can spend your whole day in one place. You can say "I do" in the lovingly restored Hay Barn or enjoy the fresh air under the canopy of the Saddlery. We also have our village church, St Germain's, at the end of the driveway if you would prefer to have your ceremony there and then stroll back with your guests for your reception drinks.
Our main Essex Barn is perfect for a party, seating 150 for your wedding breakfast or hosting up to 200 for the evening. We’ve kept all the historic charm but added the modern comforts you’d expect.
Stay a While
We want you and your loved ones to feel right at home. You can settle into the Old Coach House (which sleeps 7) the night before your big day. After the party, slip away to the romantic Stable Cottage, while your closest friends and family can tuck into our newly converted stable block, complete with en-suites and a private terrace.

Our priority is simple: making sure your day runs exactly as you imagined. You’ll have your own dedicated wedding manager to help with all the planning and to be there on the day to keep everything moving smoothly.
We’re just a stone’s throw from the M25 and M11 but ensconced in the beautiful Essex countryside, making it easy for your guests to find us and once you’re here, you’ll feel a world away.
A Sustainable Venue
Sustainability is a top priority at Blake Hall, where we use solar power, low-energy systems, and the natural cooling of our 17th-century barns to keep things green. Our gardens are just as eco-friendly, featuring wildflower meadows, busy beehives, and annual tree planting to keep the estate lush and local wildlife happy.

Blake Hall and the team around it made the mixing of our two cultures not just a beautiful day, but an absolute rager of a day and one that we, and all of our guests will never forget. We booked the dry hire option and the Blake Hall team worked seamlessly with our vendors, all of whom had never worked there before. The venue was just incredible. We had so many compliments on what a stunning venue we’d chosen. It just ticked every box and our photos of our day are so special. The team were absolutely incredible - don’t underestimate the importance of the team you’ll be working with when planning your day. They went above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble. I didn’t have a single worry on the day everything was in hand and they made sure the day run smoothly. Down to Dave ensuring I had a drink in my hand at all times (everyone needs a Dave on their wedding day!!) to Natalie and Shannon who made sure everything went to plan and I spent my morning just enjoying the build up rather then stressing. Honestly I’m forever grateful and would not hesitate to recommend Blake Hall. The venue, the food, the team, the support in the planning stages everything was incredible. We fell in love with the venue the first time we viewed it. The venue and the grounds are beautiful no matter the season or weather. We loved the attention to detail, everything is accessible, the food was amazing and the whole team are so helpful. For us our day was perfect and we wouldn't change a thing. All our guests have complimented the venue and said its the best wedding they've been to. All of our weddings are the best weddings! We love every single wedding that is held here.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Relax! Our team is extremely experienced. Both our wedding managers were married at Blake Hall themselves and have a combined 30 years of experience of working at weddings at Blake Hall between them. Our in-house catering team have worked here for over 19 years. You are in very very capable and very experienced hands.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Any personal touch is a good personal touch. We love seeing how couples choose to decorate the barns especially when they are expressing their personality through the little touches throughout the day.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Yes! Lots of famous guests over the years but its not out place to say who!
What’s your favourite canapé?
I love them all! But the cocktail sausages in mustard and honey served in a scooped out loaf, look great and were my children's favourite when they were young - so I have to say those.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Expresso martini! What else?
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The 17th century barns and the magnificent picture window in the Hay Barn. As well as Blake Hall itself, a 18th century country house, as the backdrop to so many wonderful photos.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
My staff - of course.
