Facilities and Capacity
Wivenhoe House is licensed for civil ceremonies and has an outdoor Gazebo overlooking the breathtaking grounds, surrounded by nature and tranquillity should you want an outdoor ceremony.
The traditional Drawing room accommodates up to 100 guests for your ceremony, with the beautiful Signatures lounge or Sunken Lawn available for the reception drinks after your ceremony.
The Garden Suite can accommodate up to 120 guests for a sit-down wedding breakfast and then up to 200 for your evening reception.
Services Offered
The team at Wivenhoe House goes above and beyond to produce the event of your dreams. The group believes that your day should not be shared, so operate a one wedding per day policy so that you receive the undivided attention of the professionals. The venue offers all-inclusive packages featuring three-course wedding breakfasts, a choice of items for the evening finger buffet, and Bucks Fizz or Pimms for the drinks reception. The venue's in-house chef creates delicious menus, and prosecco is provided for the toast. You have access to the venue for pre and post-wedding photos, ensuring you get the perfect shot before going home. The venue also offers event rentals, including white linens, cutlery, crockery, glassware, and a cake knife, giving you one less thing to worry about.

From the very beginning, Phoebe was one of the main reasons we chose the venue — she was so friendly, reassuring, and professional, and we immediately knew we’d be in safe hands. In the lead-up to the day, she went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and on the day itself she was simply amazing. She was so friendly and reassuring with our dog, Ruby, and kept her calm and under control throughout — something we really appreciated. Everything went (mostly) seamlessly, and so many of our guests commented on how brilliant and accommodating the whole team were. Phoebe truly went out of her way to make sure our day was extra special, and we’ll be forever grateful for all her effort and care. The whole journey was seamless from booking the venue to walking down the aisle. Phoebe thought of everything and dealt with all the little mishaps so calmly with her amazing calming presence. The ceremony room was stunning and made for the most incredible photos. I was originally a bit unsure about how the reception room would look for our wedding, as I was worried it would look corporate, but I should not have worried, as once decorated, it looked stunning! Everyone commented on how incredible the food was, from the canapes to the pizza buffet in the evening. We felt truly important and looked after throughout the process and the day. We had a lot of comments from guests to say this was the best wedding they have ever been to! It was so lovely that we had lots of friends and family stay in the hotel on the night of the wedding too, and we could extend the wedding out over a couple of days! Everything ran smoothly and we were very lucky to be looked after by Pheobe both leading up to and on the wedding day itself. She went above and beyond, down to ensuring that we always had a drink in our hand. Sam also looked after us in the evening, again checking in and making sure that the rest of the night ran without a hitch. We would highly recommend having your special day here!My husband and I had the best wedding at Wivenhoe House - the wedding, the evening, the hotel stay and even the breakfast in the morning! The two rooms we used were beautiful with high ceilings and ornate plasterwork and did not need much in the way of added decoration. All of the staff attended to our needs throughout the day and were never intrusive but were always at hand. From start to finish we were looked after by Lisa who was brilliant. Everything we asked for happened with no fuss. Poonam stayed in the hotel for two nights prior to the big day and many stayed that evening to join us for breakfast the next morning which finished off our event perfectly. The rooms were amazing and we would recommend this venue to anyone. We had THE best time, it was perfect.What a day we had!
