Deer's Leap Retreat

What can we say, we couldn't have asked for more from Deer's Leap Retreat. It was just perfect. We wanted a relaxed, rustic wedding that allowed our friends and family to feel at home and really have a great time and this is what happened. Heather and James, and their team, worked tirelessly to help us create the best day. We were given guidance throughout the process meaning we never felt lost or overwhelmed. So many of our guests told us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to.

From start to finish Heather and her team at Deer's Leap was always on hand to offer advice, answer any questions no matter how trivial and helped us create our bespoke wedding. The use of the Bridal cottage and farmhouse for the duration of the wedding weekend was massively beneficial and meant that guests could socialise and those travelling from far away had somewhere homely and comfy to stay. The staff were friendly, helpful and during the day all went the extra mile.

I can't even begin to put into words how amazing our wedding was. Heather and the team made it the most special, smooth and personal experience and we honestly can't think of a thing we would change or have done differently. Heather clearly loves what she does because there are no hidden costs and she truly just wants your day to be perfect. Throughout the planning process, Heather was incredible. She was so accommodating and made us feel like anything was possible.

Our wedding at Deer's Leap Retreat was so special and magical. The location of the venue is incredible, nestled in the rolling hills it feels both snug and expansive at the same time. We were fortunate to visit the venue a number of times and see Deer's Leap in Winter and Autumn, Spring and Summer, the experience kept transforming offering something new and beautiful. We can't thank you enough, we had so much fun because we knew we were in safe hands!

We cannot recommend Deers Leap enough Heather, James and their team are amazing humans nothing is to much trouble and have a great way of calming an very nervous bride. The support and advise was invaluable. Setting is perfect with lots of freedom to use the space in your own way and just enough advise to not fall down a rabbit hole!! Our guests were wowed and lots of questions on how we found them. Perfect day perfect venue perfect hosts. Thankyou is really not enough xxx

Heather and her team were incredible. They made our day one that we will treasure forever. Heather was kind, informative and calm. We loved her attitude to our wedding ideas. On the day she managed our wedding and guests perfectly. Other venues we had gone and seen had lots of stipulations and hidden costs but deers leap was upfront from the start. The venue was exactly what we wanted and we really felt welcomed by Heather and her family. I can't recommend it enough. We plan to go back and hire the house for other family events in the future we loved it SOOO much. Thank you deers leap. 😊😊

We selected Deers Leap for our wedding as it had the relaxed individual kind of feel we wanted to be able to create our dream wedding rather than having everything chosen for us. The venue itself for the ceremony and reception was beautiful and the added bonus of so much accommodation meant we could make a real weekend of it with lots of family coming from further afield. We had lots of positive feedback from family staying in the Bell tents and we made good use of the hot tubs! The bridal cottage is also great, allowing privacy for getting ready on the morning of the wedding but also giving the newlyweds some time away from everyone after! Heather, James and the team went out of their way to assist with any requests and to make the day run smoothly so thank you!

I remember when we started looking at wedding venues and looked at Deers Leap's website... I said to John (my now husband) there's no way we can afford such a beautiful place, we must forget about it. Then we thought, why not to try and we realised how helpful Heather and James were and completely on board of tailor making our wedding to pretty much anything we like. Anything that is sensibly achievable, Heather will do and make it work. They looked after our catering themselves as we had a small wedding, and all the guests were blown away about how nice the food was. The pricing was very fair and flexible and whenever we got stuck with anything, Heather would have plenty of great ideas to help. They have also accommodated things to have our dog there too. Nothing was ever too much trouble. It felt like dealing with long term friends, not dealing with someone who is running a business and that is just purely from friendliness and "easy to talk to" point of view whereas the business side of things dealing with payments were very professional. Deers Leap is the perfect place for people who want an intimate wedding that means a lot for the people who are organising it not just for the marrying couple and their families. For someone who loves the outdoors, the beautiful countryside and wants a unique wedding that is not identical to the one they had before or the next one. We still wish we could live that weekend all over again and I am sure most of our guests would say the same. I honestly can't recommend this place highly enough, we love Deers Leap and we think of Heather and the family more as friends ever since! We miss them all!

We were so lucky to find Deers Leap Retreat. After months of searching for the perfect weekend wedding spot that we could afford we finally found this little gem. Not only is the sight just beautiful! You can get married by a beautiful lake with pontoon lightning and even have a fireworks display all finished off by champers in the three hot tubs! Heather and the Gang will help sort out anything including building a flower archway, hiding our surprise mariachi band, letting us stay from Thursday - Monday, giving out left over wine free to our guests, giving free lifts home to our tipsy guests, and organising last minute speeches with cake at the lakeside gazebo! No ask is too big and heather will make sure you have your dream wedding.
