The Estate is comprised of a Victorian mansion with nine ensuite double bedrooms, a delightful country cottage, a newly renovated lodge house and a modern barn conversion, sleeping a total of 34 guests. All properties are decorated to an impeccable standard.
Grand or intimate, indoor or out - Casterton Grange is flexible and encourages individual and unique weddings.
The grounds are home to a lake, a natural aisle for summer weddings, a tennis court, a walled kitchen garden and an abundance of flora and fauna. There are several sites with enviable backdrops to pitch a marquee or tipi for larger weddings, or even a whole glamping village for extra accomodation!
Facilities in the house include a billiards room with a full size snooker table and bar, interconnecting reception rooms, Sonos speakers throughout and a second kitchen for catering (ideal for drinks receptions as well as the day before and after your wedding).
We have a fantastic team of recommended event planners and suppliers to suit all individual tastes.

Once you are inside the gates of The Casterton Grange Estate it feels like a private and isolated haven. However, The Estate is deceptively easy to reach. It is situated just outside the picturesque and up-market town of Kirby Lonsdale, just 10 minutes from the M6 and 20 minutes from the mainline train station at Oxenholme with direct links to all major UK cities.

We booked without a tour as we live abroad, and needless to say it exceeded our expectations and is even more beautiful in real life. Every question and need we had was answered quickly and effectively. The house is beautiful and spacious. Anneka set-up connections with all the different services we needed and everything ran smoothly. It couldn't have gone better! We would highly highly recommend Casterton to anyone. We had a wonderful winter wedding at Casterton! We booked without a tour as we live abroad, and needless to say it exceeded our expectations and is even more beautiful in real life. Every question and need we had was answered quickly and effectively. The house is beautiful and spacious. This is such a stunning place it’s hard to find enough words to describe it! Non of us wanted to leave. The venue has everything you could wish for, including tennis courts, a lake, hot tubs, non of which we had time to use and a snooker room which was most certainly put to use! Each bedroom is individually styled with the largest and most comfortable beds and superb en-suites. Chef Bruno Birkbeck @ Northcote prepared the most wonderful meals and ensured non of us went hungry! Anneka, the host is wonderful! She made every single one of our party, which consisted or 26 adults, 5 children, 2 babies and dog Yogi, felt welcome and at home. Nothing is too much trouble for her! She is there when you need her (a dab hand at removing lipstick from The Father of the Bride’s shirt, 15 mins before the wedding ) and constantly supervising when you don’t even know she’s there! Anneka is the dream host. We would highly recommend this stunning venue for any family celebration. We celebrated with a black tie dinner on the Friday on the terrace, the wedding day at a local church and then back to the house for various festivities and then late night dancing! Sunday we had a BBQ and then watched England lose on penalties in the euros final! The estate is so welcoming and really was our home for the weekend. Anneka was very relaxed and allowed us to enjoy everything to the max. It was really everything we could have dreamed of. All our guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and will be coming back to Casterton Grange for holidays. The size of the venue meant we could have all of our closest family, friends and bridal party to stay on the estate in the fantastic array of accommodation, for the entire weekend. The rooms are second to none and made all of our guests feel really special. From the walled garden to the aisle, the grounds are absolutely stunning and blew our guests away. Everyone also loved having a post-wedding dip in the hot tubs! Nothing was too much trouble for Patrick and Anneka and they really extended the family feel to us throughout the weekend so we felt completely at home- whilst living in a dream! Casterton Grange will always hold a special place in our memories and we will certainly be back to celebrate in the future. The size of the venue meant that all of our family and bridesmaids stayed at the venue - which they all loved. It felt like our home away from home. Patrick and Anneka were so accommodating and welcoming, they truly made us feel so relaxed. We had a smaller event on Sunday with a band outside on the terrace and an extra large rounders game on the field. The hot tubs were an amazing touch which all of our family and friends got use of. We never wanted to leave and will definitely be back for special events in the future. Everyone stayed at the estate for the two nights; in the main house, cottage and barn. They all commented on their beautiful rooms which were all decorated to a very high standard. We had both the wedding ceremony and reception in the main house and partied into the early hours. We can't thank Anneka enough, from all the planning and suggestions months in advance, keeping in touch with us regularly with updates, to ensuring the weekend itself went smoothly, she completely went out her way for us. She acquired a last minute tie for a guest who forgot his and even cleaned a shirt 5 minutes before the ceremony after he discovered a mark on the collar. Anneka was there ensuring everything was perfect!! It was honestly the best weekend we could have imagined, small intimate weddings are the way forward!! We initially had the "big white wedding" planned for June 2020 in a church and venue in Manchester, then booked a smaller wedding at Casterton for September 2020 which also had to be postponed due to further lockdowns. - RRupal22/09/2020we felt so comfortable staying there before we even arrived.we felt so comfortable staying there before we even arrived.We stayed 5 nights as a family last month in the main house at Casterton Grange Estate. The grounds, the house and everything about it is just beautiful. Patrick was so accommodating to our needs and requests that we felt so comfortable staying there before we even arrived. It was such a nice surprise to be welcomed to treats that had been left for us. Everything we needed was catered for including amazing bedding, towels, linen, as well as essentials such like kitchen roll, loo roll even cling film. The heating, lighting, and all the small touches like umbrellas, toiletries, so many different books to read & dvds to watch.. the access to Netflix but also the Sonos sound system just made the experience even better than we had ever expected. The pictures do not do this home justice. The setting is stunning and the living space is so well designed, we were lucky to have some sunny days and utilize the hot tub. I would love to return to Casterton and do it all again as there is so much to explore and appreciate in the home. We would have loved to see the observatory and the wine cellar, and it would be great to have an umbrella or shaded area outside so you can still sit out in the rain (when its warm) and appreciate the grounds if you choose to - hopefully next time :) I wouldn't want anything else to change, it's perfect. - VVictoria11/09/2020Every comfort has been thought of...Every comfort has been thought of...We were fortunate enough to stay at Casterton Grange after a cancellation enabled us to book in very last minute. We couldn’t have been happier with it. The house itself is absolutely stunning and beautifully fitted out throughout. It has the feel of a family home despite its vastness. Every comfort has been thought of from the generous welcome hamper on arrival to high quality linen and towels, comfortable beds and gorgeous roll top baths in two of the en-suites as well as a superbly fitted kitchen. The choice of rooms to relax in meant that even if you were a really large group you would have plenty of space and not feel crowded at all. We enjoyed the cosiness of the snug area next to kitchen / dining room with its beautiful old stove style fire as well as the light and airy conservatory! The full size snooker table and outdoor tennis court kept our kids entertained and the whole house is hide and seek heaven for kids of all ages! If you were feeling energetic there is even a gym room too. The garden was a particular highlight for us too as it had recently been replanted and beautifully landscaped and it was a pleasure to look out onto the grounds from all angles! The addition of a hot tub was a winner with everyone too!! The location of Casterton Grange also sets it apart. It feels as if you are completely secluded in a haven away from it all even though the nearby town of Kirkby Lonsdale is only a few minutes drive away. Walking into the adjacent field and up the hill away from the gardens brings you to the most spectacular view of the countryside. Another 10/15 mins walk away is the River Lune, great for paddling or swimming if you’re brave! On our last night we enjoyed the most breathtaking sunset from the top of the hill which was the perfect end to a wonderful, relaxing and refreshing week away. We can’t thank Patrick and Anneka enough for their hospitality and for being especially helpful with any queries or issues we had which were only ever minor! We hope to return to Casterton Grange again in the future and would highly recommend it!
