I had a lot of questions during the planning process, but they answered them all thoroughly, no matter how small the question. The team really went above and beyond to accommodate our vision for the day. Our meetings were all really well run and we especially enjoyed our menu tasting with Suzanne, she was so knowledgeable and talked us through all the ways we could adapt the menu if we wished. Did anyone in particular make the process easier or more enjoyable for you? Everybody who helped us was amazing! Sophie was wonderful in the final lead up to the wedding, especially dealing with some last-minute changes, but we've also spoken to Jules, Lauren and Natasha, who were all brilliant as well. Was there anything that we could improve on? We weren't informed that the new room was being/had been built and had found out from another Cotswolds Hotel & Spa couple just before our final details meeting. We were happy to have extra space to use, but a blanket email to all booked couples just to inform us of the changes would have been good. On the day itself: What was the best part of your day? Honestly, we can't pick a favourite moment - our day was perfect! The entire day was so well-run, we knew exactly what to expect in terms of timings and each part of the day flowed smoothly into the next. We didn't have to worry about anything and could just relax and enjoy our day. The food was delicious and generous portions, both us and our guests really enjoyed it. Was there anyone in particular that made your day extra special? Raj and Enver were great! We especially appreciated that they set aside some canapes for us to enjoy once we had finished all of the group photos, so we didn't miss out, and they kept checking in on us throughout the day to make sure everything was going well. It was also lovely that Sophie came to find us and say congratulations/goodbye before she finished her shift. Was there anything that we could improve on? I realised when we got home the next day that the decorative sugar flowers from our cake hadn't been kept/given to us. Not too big of a deal for us as we didn't really have anywhere suitable to keep them anyway, but I know many couples would have liked to have kept these. The venue: What made you book our venue? As soon as we stepped into the ballroom on a wedding open day, we loved the fairy lights on the ceiling and how spacious and light the room was! We could immediately picture ourselves getting married there. The team was really friendly and welcoming too. What was your favourite part about the venue? The ballroom definitely stood out as it's gorgeous! The golf course is also a beautiful setting for couples photos. We also liked that there were plenty of rooms for all of our guests to stay on-site, as some other local venues didn't have this capacity. Could you suggest an area we could improve on? The whole process from start to finish has been a joy. When we first toured the venue, we knew we were having a smaller wedding of circa 50 people and thought this would mean the beautiful Amara Ballroom would be off limits to us. This was not the case at all. We were welcomed to use this space and just couldn't picture getting married anywhere else. Natasha and Jules were our first points of contact and were so helpful. Jules made clear the packages that were available and what needed to be decided when. Any questions we had were answered quickly and with complete honesty. Our meal tasting was also fantastic where we were hosted by Suzanne. She was wonderful and had just the energy to settle any nerves. The food was great and the biggest trouble was picking between the things we tried - we could have had it all! The wedding day itself - I cannot fault one thing. Every single member of staff assigned to our wedding offered so much care and attention - they were all wonderful. We look back on the day with so much joy. Not even Storm Bert could dampen our spirits. Suzanne and Raj made sure that everything ran seamlessly and a huge thank you to both of them, as well as the bar staff and waiters that looked after our tables, and Milena on reception. I want to give a special shout out to Lauren who has been looking after us since just before the one month meeting. Her dedication to making sure that everything went smoothly was unbelievable. I cannot get over the lengths Lauren went to - getting drenched finding and driving a golf buggy - to make sure that I made it from my apartment suite to the ballroom as dry as possible in my wedding dress. The selflessness was unreal and I am utterly grateful for the heart and soul that went into making the day run smoothly. There is nowhere we would rather have decided to get married. Not only was it a beautiful setting for our wedding but the staff were incredible. They worked seamlessly to ensure everything went well, before, during and after the wedding. They really took any stress away from us and had so much experience to offer. We really enjoyed our day, it was everything we wanted it to be and more. We stayed in an apartment suite with our bridal party and they were lovely and clean with plenty of space to get ready and just added a touch of luxury to our experience. Everything ran seamless and perfectly. The staff go above and beyond, very helpful and friendly, nothing is too much hassle. The venue is simply stunning. Hotel rooms are spotless and have everything you need. All my guests were blown away with whole day, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Suzanne was on hand on the day and she is the most lovely person, made me feel more relaxed as I was super nervous. Food was DELICIOUS...no words! The room is so beautiful and the space and lighting is amazing it makes it feel so magical. From start to finish the venue organisers were there for us all the way answering and helping us with any questions or ideas we would like to use or ask! I would like to shout to Lauren who’s has been an absolute star in being there for us from day one. Nothing was to much trouble no matter how many emails I sent her or telephone calls. She went above and beyond to accommodate all of what we wanted. The whole process with her was enjoyable and fun. The day itself was one to remember the room looked amazing and the staff couldn’t do enough for us and our guests, from makeup and hair to the ceremony and wedding breakfast to the evening reception they were all friendly and professional. The food was amazing and everyone commented on how good the canapés were and I missed out on them gutted 😞 I would like to shout out to Suzanne who was by my side all day and made me feel relaxed and at ease. She laughed with me and Stuart all day! And also to Miles he was with us too all day too. He so lovely and helped with anything we asked off him you both made our day a little bit more special!!! The payment links were good. Did anyone in particular make the process easier or more enjoyable for you? - Lauren, Susanne & Miles made the day so easy and were so professional and on it at all times! Was there anything that we could improve on? - dress code of the waiting staff was a little under dressed (blue jeans and T-shirts and puffer jackets!) for a wedding, but they were very efficient and friendly which was still great. Susanne was very smart and professional. Also the shower in the bridal suite did not work- plug hole blocked which flooded the bathroom floor. Not a huge issue as I showered in another guest room. What was the best part of your day? - the evening was amazing- great DJ and everyone was up dancing. Miles was always floating around if we needed him. The food was fabulous. Bar staff were great too. What made you book our venue? - how beautiful the ballroom was- the chandeliers and fairy lights! (I found you on TikTok). Holly/Lauren’s first impression was great and we loved them and the venue. Could you suggest an area we could improve on? - I was a little disappointed that we could not go and do the personal photos on the golf buggies at 2pm as planned. I appreciate the site is a golf course as well, however it is our most special day that we have paid good money for and I wonder if there would have been a way for us to go a different route to the lake/bridge to be able to do them. By 5pm when we were offered the buggies the moment had kind of passed and we wanted to go and freshen up ready for the evening. We did some up by the venue in the end but just a little thought I had! Overall though absolutely amazing from start to finish. So seamless and stress free and everybody was genuinely so helpful and caring. The main Amara ballroom has a white draped ceiling covered in fairy lights, and there are beautiful chandeliers hanging down - it’s like something out of a fairy tale. I love the set up of the rooms as everything is all in one place meaning that the guests are not separated away from each other - the main room leads onto the bar and also onto the outside terrace. The venue have a variety of centrepieces that you can chose from, and you also have the option of hiring other decorative items and a post box which saves you having to buy them and dispose of them again after the wedding. The planning and organisation prior to the wedding day went very smoothly, our main point of contact was Jules who was very helpful and would respond to any queries that we had very promptly. At the reception we had the resident DJ Ian, he contacted us before the day to find out what sort of music we liked, and we were also able to request songs on the night. All of our guests had a great time dancing the night away! After the wedding we had so many messages from guests telling us how much they enjoyed the day, we even had one guest message us to say that it was the best wedding he had ever been to! We are so glad that we chose Cotswolds Hotel, Golf and Spa for our wedding venue, we would not have changed a thing.
