It’s a beautiful minimalist venue and we loved the fact that we could do what we wanted to the space. There’s a large upstairs room which is perfect for the ceremony and downstairs area which we used for the reception. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
It's impossible to choose one and I hope that all our couples would say their's.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Try and enjoy it and remember the day is about you. If you are doing most of the planning yourselves then a bit of extra help on the day is never a bad thing. Caterers can be surprisingly flexible in what they can help with as well.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We had a wedding where the Bride was of Indian descent and the Groom's dad was from their Caribbean and mum from London. They did multiple costume changes to reflect all of their heritage.
Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.
A bright, spacious, airy blank canvas with amazing high arched ceilings.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
A lot of couples will take photo's in the hall but also pop five mins down the road to Springfield Park after the ceremony for further shots.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
As a venue we've had various celebrities use the building such as Idris Elba, Martin Freeman and very recently Janette and Ajlaz from Strictly Come Dancing, use the venue but the most famous wedding guest is probably Katherine Jenkins, the Welsh Opera singer.
What’s your favourite canapé?
One of our suppliers, Sabel, do this amazing dressed crab on doughnuts.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Pumpkin
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The high ceilings and modernised period features
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our charity! Core Clapton is a registered charity so income from weddings help us in our mission to make outstanding osteopathy available to all, whatever their income.
