The Coach House stands proudly next to the Dog & Fox hotel; an iconic pub & bedrooms in the heart of Wimbledon Village established in the 1800’s, featuring the widest and most versatile choices of private hire areas within Wimbledon; making it the perfect place to begin your happily ever after. Whether it is a small intimate wedding or a grand affair, the Coach House is a neutral space ready to be made your own from ceremony to reception; whether you deck the room with flowers or leave as is for a classic celebration. An all-year-round venue, the Coach House provides a beautiful setting in both winter and summer with British seasonal menus, an extensive wine list and little extras to create a bespoke package for your special day. With an onsite dedicated events planner at your disposal it couldn’t be easier. The Coach House holds a ceremony license for up to 100 guests and is also available for receptions only for up to 120 guests seated or 150 standing. With the addition of 25 exquisite, individually designed boutique bedrooms above the venue, including a beautiful bridal suite with terrace, the Dog & Fox is the perfect spot from start to finish. Prep meetings, wine tasting, liaising with suppliers etc were all planned with Riley who was helpful and super competent - we loved her ability to shape our vision and align it with the space. She was so ‘on it’ during the day which filled me with confidence.They were extremely flexible and welcoming with all of our guests saying the food was great.The day was so so good and a lot of that was down that was down to the D&F!From start to end, under new management, the Dog and Fox team were great! The day itself went perfectly and the food and drinks were excellent. We also stayed a couple nights and the rooms were fantastic. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
It's hard to choose! Every wedding we've hosted incorporated such personal touches of the couples journey throughout the day. We've had couples do surprise singing waiters halfway through dinner service and others playing beer pong and giant jenga on the terrace. It's always so rewarding bringing your visions to life through a year or even a few months of organising.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Have FUN! Often couples get swept up in what they think is the 'right' choice and forget to do what's right for them. Focus on what will make the day most special to you and spend it with those you love most.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our food. With everything made in house our food is always fresh and delicious. For our Head Chef Holly no request too big or difficult. We will always endevaour to tailor our menu to meet your needs how we can!
What is your favorite canape?
Personally, I love the Devilled Egg. When writing the new canapé menu, our Head Chef had me in mind. As I'm originally from Florida, they're a big part of my childhood – so it’s my own little ode to the menu. Every guest is pleasantly surprised when they get to try one.
A real crowd-pleaser, though, is definitely the Mini Yorkshire with Braised Beef!
Where's the best photo spot for your venue?
Our Library and main entrance are wonderful photo spots. The moody lighting and grand portraits create a really timeless setting. Recently, a couple did a champagne spray on the roundabout just outside the entrance — with the hotel in the background (and a big red bus!), the photo was so fun and unique.
I also always suggest Cannizaro Park, which is only a short walk away.
What's your favorite midnight snack?
Recently, we’ve started offering a toastie machine in the evenings so guests can grill their own cheese toastie — as gooey as they like!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The Coach House features a sliding wall that can split the room in two. This allows for very easy room turnarounds out of guest view, and you'll never feel like you've left the space!
