Deep in wild romantic Dartmoor countryside, surrounded by woodland and rolling farmland in the stunning Teign valley, Clifford Barton is a unique rural barn wedding venue set in an idyllic 50 acre nature reserve. We are nestled around a Medieval farmstead combining old world charm with contemporary style and comfort and built on strong environmental values.
Licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies, we strive to create a relaxed, bespoke and highly personal experience. You have exclusive use of the venue for the weekend.
We offer a choice of wonderfully romantic licensed spots to tie the knot including, for nature lovers, overlooking the beautiful Bridesmere lake or our Woodland Ceremony location. You and your guests can enjoy the lake, woodland and meadow trails around the nature reserve with abundant outside space for games or just quiet enjoyment on long summer evenings.
You have the freedom to create the wedding of your dreams, with your choice of suppliers, and total flexibility in how you use the venue, but with the reassurance of knowing there is support and advice available if needed.
Enjoy stylish, luxury on-site accommodation for up to 22 close family and friends in cottages and an additional 10 guests in bell tents, to extend the celebrations and make things easy for your loved ones.
After the excitement of the day retire to a secluded off grid love nest to spend your wedding night in fabulous comfort under the stars.

• Use of licensed space for the Ceremony: Bridesmere Bridge, “T’wix Tw’oaks”, Swallow Barn or The Corn Barn
• Use of Swallow Barn, the Corn Barn and surrounding areas for the Reception, including lawn games
• Exclusive access to the ceremonial and reception areas from 12 noon the day before the wedding to set up, the wedding day, and the day after the wedding
• You are welcome to bring your wedding breakfast wine and toast wine (up to a combined total of 37.5cl per adult)
• We provide a well stocked, reasonably priced pay bar for the the Wedding Day, including a Canoe bar for post Ceremony welcome drinks at the lake, if desired
• Wedding Planning Advice and support in the planning stages and co-ordination and support on the Wedding Day
• Off-grid Love Nest for the weekend for the newlyweds
• Exclusive use of accommodation for 20 on site (charged separately)
• Exclusive use of Glamping bell tents if required (charged separately)
• A session in the Wood fired off grid Hot Tub with fantastic views

The setting, both the surrounding countryside and the cottages and barn, is beautiful, and getting married by the lake honestly couldn't have been more romantic. We felt that the price of the wedding was reasonable and the level of flexibility was outstanding. The location, in a tranquil Dartmoor valley with a lakeside canopied bridge along a country track within the grounds of the property where the ceremony was conducted and the beautiful barn for the reception was perfect. The owners Gavin and Vicki were so accommodating ensuring that the bride and grooms wishes were carried out and it was lovely to have them around on the day to help out. The accommodation alongside the barn was beautifully appointed for all ages and a pleasure to stay in over the weekend. The ceremony site was what first attracted us to the venue, the bridge overlooking the lake is so romantic and unique and we felt so lucky to be able to get married there. The grounds are beautiful and well kept and the barn is gorgeous to host the wedding breakfast. Our guests all said it was one of the best wedding they'd be to and some are already booking to go back and stay in the cottages again.
