Charleton Farm Full Description
Charleton Farm has been a family-run farm since 1946. Historically, the farm was used as the stable block for Charleton House which was a large building within the grounds that was built in the early 19th Century and remodelled in 1892 by R. Rowand Anderson following a fire. The farm is just outside Montrose and is set in beautiful countryside and yet only 15 minutes’ walk from the beach. The large grounds include a listed walled garden, which is currently being renovated and will include wooden lodges with wood fired hot tubs. A recent addition to Charleton Farm is the huge original carrot barn, which has been transformed over the past 18 months into the most unique and delightful space for both weddings and functions. This truly magical space can be set for virtually any occasion and includes a fully stocked central bar, original brick and metal features, an enchanting outside courtyard area plus space to seat 130 guests for a meal and host up to 250 people for other events. We have a large catering kitchen which enables us to provide a wide range of menu choices bespoke to your choosing from a full 3 course meal to a BBQ or Hog Roast and everything in between. The farm also has a 2 bedroom cottage for use by our wedding couples which includes an outdoor hot tub. As well as this, we have a large children's play park, a 70 seated restaurant and a gift shop selling farm and fresh local produce, a wide variety of gifts and toys.

Dog Friendly

Visited today after a wet dog walk down the beach. As we had dogs, with us we were fully prepared to sit outside. However, we were pleased to find the inside area to the left is dog friendly. We were made to feel very welcome. Well done Charleton for ticking another customer centred box.

Excellent Farm Shop & Restaurant

We had a fantastic lunch at Charleton Farm. It was delicious, reasonably priced and atmospheric in the old steading and menu is extensive. I have to say that most farm shops stock local and deli produce with a huge mark up, this was certainly not the case at Charleton.

Lovely place for a day out. The food at the restaurant was excellent, we all loved the fruit picking and the shop was full of lovely treats. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely visit again
