- SS and R22/01/2025Personal and flexible and just exactly what we neededPersonal and flexible and just exactly what we neededI am a Londoner and was set on a central London wedding. I visited a number of lovely central London prospective venues. BMA House was the most personal and least 'corporate' of them (I say this as a someone who works in the City - I'm all for corporate, but not for my wedding!). Victoria was extremely kind and went out of her way to find solutions to the various issues that cropped up - from cultural sensitivities around a religious service, to working with me to offer a bespoke menu for family-style dining with a Middle Eastern flavour. The week before the wedding the team even accomodated me throwing a new band at them (not all last minute panics are bad ideas!) The team and especially Victoria, juggle an awful lot but manage to keep things friendly and personal throughout. I can't tell you how often we popped in after work for a look or to measure things - they were always extremely generous with their time and knowledge/experience. One of the key benefits of the BMA was the use lots of different spaces (we had 2 ceremonies in one day, in different rooms, with a drinks reception in the garden and then dinner in the upstairs hall and then dancing and a bar downstairs again. Ontop of that, I had a beautiful room to get ready in, and functional side rooms for breastfeeding mums/kids and babysitters. The garden is magical and utterly romantic. On the day, the food was great, there were no tech hiccoughs, the team kindly helped with menus/seating charts/decor additions/managing the suppliers behind the scenes. The waiting staff went above and beyond. We had some guests with mobility limitations and I understand that from their perspective it all went well and the accessibility info gave them all the detail they needed before coming. This was particularly good as we did move around a fair bit on the day. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Steph and Alex - after a rather turbulent year with many weddings put on hold due to the pandemic, I was fortunate enough to see one of my couples twice! After a small family wedding in August 2020, Steph and Alex were thrilled to return to BMA House for a bigger celebration, as they had originally planned in July 2021. They invited 120 guests to their ceremony and wedding breakfast which took place in the Paget Room, with an additional 20 guests arriving in the evening for drinks and dancing in the Snow Room next door. The weather held just long enough for them to have their drinks reception in the beautiful Courtyard and they were also able to take some photos with their families in the picturesque Garden. Such a fun day!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
An important first step is to decide what you want the budget to be for your wedding. This will be a driving factor in many of the decisions you make later down the line so should be one of the first things you think about.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Wedding favours are one area where a couple can really add a personal touch to thank their guests for coming. One wedding saw a very crafty bride use individual photos of their guests as their place setting, the photos were clipped onto beautiful holders with the couples names engraved into it, which their guests could take home as a memory of the special day.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
In front of the central, bronze fountain in the Courtyard.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Yes, back in 2014 we celebrated the wedding of Nicola and Chris. Chris's brother, Dan, is married to television presenter, Rylan Clark-Neal! So we had a nice surprise on the day to have Rylan as one of our guests, who had just taken part in Celebrity Big Brother in 2013.
What’s your favourite canapé?
I love Asian food so it has to be our Korean fried chicken with sriracha mayonnaise!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Come midnight guests are looking for something to soak up their drinks, so my recommendation would be pizza of course from our wonderful food trucks.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our striking and remarkable central fountain in the Courtyard. It's the first thing people see when they entre our Courtyard, always a strong talking point and makes a great backdrop for those all-important photos.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our team. Not only our caring event planners, but everyone behind-the-scenes who you may not see, like our hardworking catering team, chefs, porters, security, cleaners, receptionists and technical support, each and every person helps to make BMA House what it is today.
