The most popular wedding dates for 2024 and 2025 are summer Saturdays (51% of all weddings in 2024 alone took place on a Saturday), though Saturdays in late spring and early autumn are also in demand (with weather that’s pleasant, but a little milder). That being said, more and more couples (especially Gen Z ones!), are starting to explore alternative dates to cut costs and find more availability and unique opporunties for their big day. As always, the most important thing is to choose a date that’s both practical and special for your and your partner.

Saturdays are super convenient for guests because most people don’t have to worry about work or other commitments. Everything from travel to accommodation is a whole lot easier to fit in over a weekend. That means friends and family can easily travel and be there to celebrate with you. So, if you’re looking to get more people to your wedding, a Saturday is your best bet. That’s why they’re the go-to choice for couples with large guest lists in particular.

While weekends are always in demand, don’t be discouraged if your ideal Saturday date is already taken. Consider a Friday or Sunday wedding, or even a midweek or off-season wedding to enjoy some hefty savings. Ultimately, the most important thing is to pick a date that aligns with your priorities and vision, whether that’s a date with sentimental significance or simply one that works best for your schedule.
