Intimate and Elegant Wedding Venue Say "I do" in the historic and elegant Adelaide in Oshawa, Ontario. This charming venue is perfect for couples looking to host a small and intimate wedding, baby or bridal shower, with a timeless feel. The grand wrought iron staircase and stained glass windows provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos, creating a romantic and memorable atmosphere for your special day. The Drawing Room is ideal for formal receptions, with space for up to 48-50 seated guests. For more intimate gatherings, the Oak Room can accommodate up to 30 guests. We do not have catering so you are welcome to bring in your own caterer and supplies. You are permitted to serve alcohol with the proper permits and insurance (we can guide on you on obtaining that). We have plenty of free parking, Wifi and tablecloths at no charge. Whether you're planning a small ceremony or a cozy reception, YWCA Durham offers the perfect setting for your wedding day. Revenue from the rental of our Drawing and Oak Rooms goes back into our programming for women and children. We are a registered not for profit, so when you book with us, you are giving back!

Furniture included
We charge $80 per hour plus HST for either the Drawing Room or Oak Room. When you book both rooms we charge $120.00 per hour. We charge $25 to $50 for furniture setup, which will be done before you arrive for your event. We ask that you book for the entire time you use the rooms, so most people book at least an hour before their event is to start so they can put out their decor and food. Then, they usually book a half hour after their event ends to tidy up. We don't ask you to clean, but we do expect you to leave the room as it was.

What hours are the rooms available?

We can accommodate any hours you prefer, as long as your event ends by midnight. We do ask people to book the room for the entire time they will use it. Most book at least an hour before the event starts and a half hour after it ends. We will set up the furniture the way you want it before you arrive, but you will need to book the time you need to put our decor, food, etc. After the event we expect the room to be left tidy.

Do you have catering?

We do not have catering. You will have to bring in your own food and all the supplies (plates, napkins, cutlery, glasses, etc.). We have a kitchen but do not permit cooking. The kitchen can be used to put out food, you can have access to a fridge and sink as well. We provide tablecloths in white, navy, lilac, dark purple or grey.

Can we view the room?

Yes, but only during Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at a prearranged time. Just give us a call to book a viewing (905) 576-6356.

Can we have alcohol at our event?

Yes. You will have to purchase a special events permit with the provincial government and public alcohol liability (PAL) insurance with your provider. We can provide links for both of these.

Can we have a DJ or can we play loud music?

Yes.
