The venue itself was beautiful and the food was exceptional, but the planning process was frustratingly disorganized from start to finish.
Over the course of planning our wedding, we worked with three different coordinators and were never directly informed of any staffing changes — I only found out through out-of-office replies while trying to get answers to questions. Communication between staff appeared extremely poor. At one point, I was incorrectly told our deposit had not been paid despite having paid early, and agreements discussed with previous coordinators were later contradicted.
For example, I had already arranged and paid a deposit for external cutlery rentals through our decor vendor after discussing it with a previous coordinator, only to later be told outside vendors would not be allowed and that we had to use preferred vendors instead. While an exception was eventually offered, the inconsistent communication made me uncomfortable relying on it so close to the wedding.
The finalization process in the weeks leading up to the wedding was especially frustrating. Multiple versions of our function notes were sent back and forth with repeated errors, including incorrect signature drinks, incorrect champagne toast timing, and pricing discrepancies that had already been discussed with previous coordinators (i.e., charging teens the adult rate to avoid paying the room fee).
There were also issues on the wedding day itself. The person we booked with had included tequila with our bar package (noted on the original contract and final function notes), but guests were told it was unavailable. At the end of the night, my friends had difficulty locating staff to collect the leftover wedding cake and ended up cutting the cake with the dowel holding the tiers together and using their hands to pack it away.
Overall, the venue and food were excellent, but the level of organization, communication, and coordination behind the scenes fell well below expectations for a wedding venue. The venue itself was beautiful and the food was exceptional, but the planning process was frustratingly disorganized from start to finish.
