Description

As a designated Ontario Heritage Site, this charming property blends rustic elegance with historic character, creating a warm and memorable backdrop for your special celebration.

Rustic Charm with a Rich History

Say “I do” beneath the trees of our lush orchard ceremony space, framed by heritage crops and natural beauty. Then, celebrate with your guests in the farm’s original 1840 bank barn—a breathtaking structure featuring hand-hewn post and beam construction, weathered barn boards, and sunlight streaming through as the sun sets in the west.

While the barn is not climate-controlled, its newer roof provides full protection from the elements, offering a dry and welcoming space for both ceremonies and receptions, rain or shine.

Flexible and Intimate Weddings

We host weddings from May through October, accommodating up to 180 seated guests. Looking for something smaller? Fridays and Sundays are perfect for more intimate gatherings, with no minimum guest count or catering requirement—ideal for elopements, micro-weddings, or relaxed family-style celebrations.

Thoughtfully Designed for Your Day

A well-lit parking area just 100 meters from the barn ensures convenient access for up to 65 vehicles. Guests can enjoy the peaceful surroundings while strolling between the barn, orchard, and gardens, soaking in the charm and history of the farm.

Make History with Your Love Story

At Steckle Heritage Farm, your wedding is more than just an event—it’s a chapter in a story that began nearly two centuries ago. Let our stunning venue, dedicated team, and peaceful setting provide the perfect backdrop for the start of your forever.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

Can we come and see the barn?

Tours are offered on most weekdays between the hours of 10:00 am – 4.00 pm. Our tours are closed end of November until the new year, this is due to no winter maintence and accessibility to our buildings. Please email [email protected] to book a tour.

*Most Weekends are unavailable, as we are booked for weddings and events, and we like to extend the courtesy of a private site for our guests.

What comes with the rental?

Our site is a “blank slate” venue which means everything is brought in. We have washrooms inside the barn and two outdoor washrooms.

Our pre-approved caterers are full service and handle tables, chairs, linens etc. We provide the site, have a staff member here during the day to answer questions and advise during set up if need be, and provide security who ensure the safety of the site and your guests.

We have 22- 8 foot long harvest tables custom-made, as well as other decor items that can be found in our decor booklet. When you book a full-day rental with us, all of the items in our booklet are available to you at no additional cost.

How do we go about booking the barn?

The first step is to contact us at [email protected]. We will provide you with lots of information and book a tour. Once you’ve said yes to the space, we will go over a detailed contract. When you complete the contract and provide a deposit of 50% of the rental fee (non-refundable) your date will be secure.

We do not ‘hold’ dates without a deposit, and are booked on a first come first serve basis.

Can we do our own bar?

No. Alcohol may only be served by our caterers. If you wish to have a cash bar, they are your best option.

Is there anyway I can bring in a Caterer of my choice?

No. Due to the heritage designation and layout of our barn and facilities, we only allow catering through our carefully vetted and approved caterers namely Bingemans, ChefD, or Edelweiss.

What do you have for bathrooms?

There are three bathrooms newly built inside the barn to serve your reception. In addition, we have outdoor bathrooms by the orchard, to serve your ceremony.

Are you an accessible site?

We are not a “fully accessible” site as we have no concrete pathways etc. That said, we are relatively wheelchair friendly. Our bathrooms are accessible, as is the barn. We also are happy to arrange priority parking for those with mobility concerns.

Can my dog(s) be in the wedding?

Yes, your dog(s) can be a part of your ceremony only and on a leash. Please note that the pet will not be permitted inside any buildings on site, including the barn.

Do you charge a Landmark Fee?

A landmark fee is required to be remitted to us, by our preferred caterers from the final catering bill for food and beverages, and it is up to the caterer whether the fee is charged directly to the client or not.
